Engine oil

My brand new RDX's first issue was reported at the sunroof thread, now it got be repaired. I want to report my second concern, I am not sure it's a issue or not. My car started with 100% engine oil. Now the first tank of gas run out with 260 miles and average efficiency is 16. I checked another thread and think it is in a normal-lower range, all though I felt a little surprise. But now the engine oil level also reduced to 90%, is that normal?

Wow, I’ve seen on here average oil changes happening at anywhere from 5000 to 7000 miles at 15% oil life monitor. Do you idle a lot to warm up, lots of stop and go, etc.? Those types of use cases would also support the 16 mpg. How many miles did it have on it when you bought it? Test drives tend to be a lot of idling and pointing to knobs and features with a sales person sitting in the back or passenger seat...not a lot of miles, but a lot of idling potentially.

I wouldn’t worry, you will have some percentages not drop for lots of miles and some sooner then your expect, I just got an oil change 1000 miles ago and I’m at 80%

normal. Feel free to follow your own religion of oil changes at X miles interval and just reset the oil minder whenever you want. You don't need to abide by it.

FYI it's not engine oil LEVEL, it's engine oil LIFE. If you want to check the engine oil level, you have to use the orange dipstick under the hood.

This is exactly what the Service macanican said, it's a 7 miles new car, it's depend on the driving behavior. Almost on community local road with auto stop, next time I will try without auto stop. However, I would still keep watching the engine oil level.
