Are you sure it's from the B-pillar and not the noise cancelling speaker directly above your head? I had a buzzy rattle coming from there over rough surfaces. I was able to press up on it and it went away. Ironically, I removed the plastic trim to see if I could get behind the headliner thru that "speaker grille" (you can't) and after putting it back, the buzzing went away.

Does it sound squeaky and plasticky? If yes, it is likely coming from the top edge of the lower B pillar trim, around the area of the seat belt opening. It does not happen frequent enough to drive me mad. It only occurs when the weather is hot, but strangely usually only happen after I opened the passenger door in a trip.

I forgot if the noise goes away when I press on the trim, or I need to open and close the doors again.

if one figures out where the noise is; one can add a little bit of one-sided sticky foam inside the b-pillar to quell the noises. wouldnt be a bad idea. just make sure not to cover the airbag.

Errr, I think you uploaded the wrong video. That's a clunk coming from the rear cargo door, another issue in this oh-so-well-put-together vehicle.

It's hard to tell exactly what you're referencing ... is it that crackling sound? Almost sounding like the kind from a blown speaker? This was the same kind I was getting, but mine was coming from what I listed above. Pushing on the corner of the B-pillar may be pushing the headliner up enough to get it to stop. It's hard to ignore since it's coming right above your head. Give it a try ... just pry those two things off (I'd invest in a plastic trim removal set to as not to mar anything) and try to re-seat them and see if that does the trick. It did for me. If not, it could be the plastic from the B-pillar rubbing on the fabric of the headliner making the noise, or potentially a broken clip somewhere.

I removed all the b pillar trim and the driver seatbelt assembly. Also removed the driver side door. It has to be coming from some component inside the driver side door behind the vapor barrier. Unless it has something to do with the latch and the door not being tight enough when closing

I just got this today while taking the car to CostCo. It's definitely coming from the B-pillar and doesn't seem to be coming from there rather than the headliner. Let me know if you make any progress. I'll be tackling the A-pillar tomorrow and I think the cargo area is coming from the floor again, going to have to look into that as well. I hate this car.

Ok, so I hopefully got rid of the A-pillar rattle by shoving some felt between where the A-pillar meets the dash. Pushed it in just enough to where I couldn't see it using a plastic trim tool ... love these things. Short test drive proved fruitful. I tried the same with where the B-pillar meets the headliner and no dice, still get the rattle. If I push up on the headliner, it seems as though the rattle goes away. I don't know, but it seems as though that's more the area it's coming from rather than somewhere inside the pillar or the door. Let me know if you make any progress with this, I'm going to keep at it and hopefully remedy it.

So I think I fixed the B-pillar today. Although the noise sounds like it’s in the pillar it’s coming from the driver door. I removed the door panel and tightened all of the bolts. I also tightened the door handle by (you have to remove the rubber grommet on the outside edge of the door to expose the screw). Last I tightened the latch as well as the latch mechanism. I will post some photos tomorrow to clarify. So far so good

I swore mine was coming from closer to where the B-pillar meets the headliner. In an effort to see if there was any room for play in the headliner, I retracted the sunshade and pulled the headliner down to peer in. It unsnapped and pulled down a bit. Interesting. If need be, I could easily slide some felt or whatever in there if the problem persists. Pushed the headliner back in and heard two positive clicks and made sure everything else was good by pressing up all around the area. Drove around and surprisingly enough, it seems 95% of the noise is gone. I don't want to say 100% because I swear I can hear it with certain types of bumps, but even fairly bad ones, it's quiet. My gym is in a business park that has awful roads and it was quiet during the whole trip. The only time it does seem to make the noise is on certain types of bumps that somehow vibrate the car a certain way ... this will also cause the dash to rattle slightly. Over time, as plastics weaken and relax, I'm sure I'll develop a constant dash rattle.

Seems we had different rattles. I'll update if it comes back.

Any updates? Mine is definitely coming from the B-pillar. While driving, if I pressed my hand hard against the B-pillar, the rattles would stop. You would have to hit imperfections on the driver's side (ie: filled potholes or something) to get the rattle. I pulled the trim and figured it was the two tabs on top that hold the trim piece against the headliner. I didn't have anything to put there, so I put it back and suddenly the buzzy rattle stopped. I bought friction tape similar to what Honda uses for rattles in case. Now, a different rattle has returned that's a bit louder and actually sounds like plastic on plastic rattling. Weird that it took a couple days to crop up ... and then today, no rattle from that area whatsoever. I'm gonna buy a new interior clip from Honda if the rattle remains intermittent in hopes that helps.

Wow. Best of luck with the new ride. Update us on how the new IS350 is. In the incredibly unlikely chance Lexus shoehorns a V8 in there in the suspected IS500, I'll be very tempted. Despite all the criticisms, I actually love the interior on the new IS.

IS350 is a fine sedan, if you add AWD, premium sound and etc, it will be expensive.
you really going from cross-over to a sedan, not sure we can really compare them

I've had a 2016 Lexus IS F sport before I switched to the NX F sport. When I tell you I never knew what the phrase of having a "fun car" meant until after I got that, whew! it was a beast. I loved that car but I wanted an SUV since in south Florida we experience a lot of floods during hurricane season. It's an amazing car but I outgrew it. The new 2021 is basically the same car just updated exterior whereas the interior is the same which I was disappointed in and found to be a bit small compared to the RDX. I wished they had did a total redesign since the car has been out since 2015.

I am having the same issue 2022 mdx. Is there a solution? It is so annoying. Dealership says can’t do much. They recommend not to open up the panels as it might cause more rattling.

I had an annoying rattling noise coming from the front passenger side.. I took the door panel off, took the center console out, & all the trim on the passenger side.. Still had the same noise so I decided to take the passenger side seat out & removed the back plastic trim to discover that the cause of the vibration was caused by the upper lumbar support..

I put the seat back in adjusted the lumbar support & the rattle is now gone..

I sure can't wait until those who constantly complain about the rattles, etc & how poorly the car is designed now because wait until your only option is a EV.. You hear every little vibration, pop, rattle, squeak, wind noise & unless you're driving on a newly paved road you hear every bump, pothole & imperfection on the road..

It would drive me crazy if I owned one, but luckily I've only test driven them or been given it as loaner from a dealership

Is your rattle coming from specifically the B-pillar area which is particularly annoying due to its proximity to your ear? I assume not since you state "coming from the front passenger side"

Spare us the soapbox spiel if it doesn't even address the issue being discussed. Regardless of the well-known awful build quality of Teslas, that doesn't erase the fact that the current Acura line-up has poor build quality.

Just got back from driving the RDX on the highway and can confirm that adjusting the lumbar support from both extremes and everything in between does jack shit for the rattle.

Honestly, it seems like it's coming from the window. While going over road imperfections and holding the window in the "up" position, it does seem to dampen, but not eliminate, the rattle. I don't think it's coming from the actual B-pillar but somewhere in the door.
