Apple Carplay restarting constantly

Anybody else experiencing this issue? It's happening at least every 30-60 minutes of use. My IOS is up to date as are my apps. And Im using a genuine apple cable.

I tried a different cable. It restarted again. The app boots back up after a few seconds.

Hello,

For some reason this all started occurring for me. I don't know if it's due to an iOS update but it is very frustrating.
I use my Apple CarPlay daily for Waze and Music. Every time it disconnects the screen goes black and I lose my directions. This is a problem if I don't know when a turn is coming up.
I did contact Apple Support today and they stated to use a different Lightning cable as a troubleshooting step.
I just tried today and we'll see if this makes a difference.

Thanks for starting this thread, it's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing this extremely annoying behavior.

Non-Precision Crafted Performance,
Eva

I am using a 3rd party very short cable. I have also used a few apple branded ones. I have a ton of these laying around. Not one single issue.

I didn’t have an issue at all up until probably a couple of weeks ago.
The first couple of months of owning my RDX I had no problems whatsoever.
What iOS are you running? I’m currently on 12.1

The latest and greatest of course on iPhone 7 Plus. In fact, I just looked at the set of cables I bought, They are some cheap no name cables. The shortest one is a 12 inches. It works perfect.

Check your lightning port. It may be dirty due to pocket lint
