I have 22 rdx and 10k on it. notice driver seat outer leather starting to fade and it is really bad. Does any one have this issue? I apply leather conditioner every 3 month and took care of leather but seems like doesn't work. Is this something warranty can cover or just normal wear and tear. let me know what you guys think.

 

show some pics..,,,,,,, i have same issue, but doesn't bother me, same mileage as yours....i think its normal wear, its obvious because its red.

yeah mine is starting to fade that way, but yours is worst,. Is it the same with the passenger side?....but still with the mileage of our rdx....ask the dealership when you do your service if thats normal ? and if not maybe apply some ceramic coating (i.e. watch some youtube videos on leather seat care), just saying I'm no expert to give u the right advise....

 

It's normal - wear and tear.

 

also passenger side fading on same spot. probably when you get in and out of vehicle, it rubs on that area. But it's really noticeable on day time and it happened about 4k. it's getting worst. I'm gonna ask dealership if they can do something.

 

I wonder if the piece of the upholstery involved is really leather, or as I have seen on furniture "leather mate" aka vinyl.....? My black piping is torn down the length from sliding in and out for 75,000 miles. My seat leather is looser and brighter shine from the years in and out and just sitting with the ventilation in the seat on high pretty much year round....except after church when my back is really hurting and I put the heat on in the seat and AC on in the cabin. Hey, it works!
