Has anyone’s transmission failed yet? Car was moving forward whilst in reverse but not doing anything now even if i press the n button then hold it for 2 seconds it does not move (yes ebrake was disengaged) im sending it to the dealership in the morning but has it happened to anyone yet and what was your experience like?

 

Damn and only like 110k Miles on it.

What was your trans fluid change interval like?

 

Spoke to dealership last time was jan 2024 apparently

 

What was the mileage then and now, as this is mileage dependent.

 

Sorry feb 5th 2024 with 135877km according to my carfax
and 180,382km now

 

Not a bad interval! Curious to see what the dealer says failed.

did he say if 135877km was the only fluid change? If yes,
its a long time.

 

Sorry transmission fluid was changed apr 28 2022 at 84502km and then flushed on feb 5 2024 at 135877km
failure occurred at 180382km

 

Any word from dealer?

 

Dealer said that transmission was blown charged me almost 250 just for the diagnosis they sold me the car with 158,xxxkm and gave me a warranty of 160,000 km/3months anyway when i was leaving the dealer (with tow truck) the salesman were asking the tow truck driver where is my car going (has nothing to do with them) they quoted me 4000 for a used transmission with 98,000km and 2000 for labor i got everything done at a reputable transmission shop for 4000 but anyways i got my baby back today 😁

 

They installed used transmission, or repaired existing one?

 

Installed a used one with about 60,000km was thinking of getting a rebuild kit from level10 but its kinda pricey

 

4000 Canadian $ is cheap, sounds like a good deal

 

Very cheap compared to the dealer that was charging 4500 for a used tranny with 96,000km and another 2500 for labor to install they charge $190/hr

 

I am surprised Acura dealers even offer used transmissions, they are supposed to offer remanufactured transmission. Strange

 

Apparently they are not able to be rebuilt according to the dealer even though i have seen a few online

 

Long time ago, Acura dealer replaced my transmission, but they got remanufactured unit from factory. Its remanufactured at the factory
