Apparently a rock managed to crack the most expensive part on the front end, the front facing camera lens (*&$%A)&!^&#
The camera works but you can see the vertical crack down the middle. In wet weather, it totally fogs up.
The Dealers are telling me $1200 to replace (have to take off the front bumper). I found a body shop that'll do it for less than half. But they're also saying the entire front bumper has to taken off.
Anybody had any luck repairing the front camera?
FYI, the same body shop fixed my wife's Infiniti Q50 front camera in 5 min, no charge.
No replies to my post. What's up with this forum..., I guess I'm the only one in America to have rock break their camera Cheap ass design as it's plastic
Anyway, I had a local body shop replace it for way 1/3rd of the ridiculous price the Acura dealers wanted to charge me. The part alone is ~$300. As I stated above, Acura said you had to take off the whole front bumper and wanted $1200 for the repair. I watched the bodyshop do the job in 30 min. Basically he opened the hood, took off the plastic cover on top of the front engine bay, then popped out big ass Acura Emblem in the grill to get to the camera. I didn't see everything he did to get the old one off, but he plugged the new one in, fiddled with the anchor screw to remount the camera, popped the Acura logo back in, put the cover back on, DONE. There's no YouTubes out there on this, wish they'd let me video the guy. It's not that hard.

glad you fixed it for cheaper, I wonder why Acura thinks you have to take the whole front end apart
Because they can get away with charging people 4 hrs labor for a 30 min job, people are sheep. I got the distinct impression the "advisor" really didn't know what it took. Regardless, they bill in round numbers of hours.
ALL that said, if there was YT out there, most people could do this themselves
