Has anyone found a place that sells Side Window Deflectors for the 2019 RDX? WeatherTech does not offer them & the only other brand I found mounts on the outside of the window opening not in the widow channel. The brand I've seen I had tried on my 2014 RDX & I was not that happy with them as the developed small cracks on all 4 within 3 years.
thanks for the reply. Have you put them on your RDX with good results? Wellvisors was the brand I referred to that developed many small cracks on the chrome trim like material they used in just a couple of years. I'm looking for WeatherTech quality that mounts within the channel rather than sticking to the outside.
I installed on mine, ordered when they first released from wellvisor. Been happy with them so far. Haven't had luck with in channel ones on newer hondas. Window kept auto reversing. Side deflectors are a must for me.
I think using the 6 piece were a good idea. the abrupt stop of the rear side window does not look the best. I'm not a big fan of the Wellvisor's with fake chrome. I used a set on my 2014 RDX & the fake chrome developed many real cracks along the entire length NOT the plastic but the thin chrome like material cracked about every 1/2"
I got an email from Acura saying they are considering offering OEM side window deflectors in the future. doubt anything will come of it or if they would go inside the window channel like.
Here's a quick photo of the 6-piece Wellvisor kit. The pieces attach to the door frame with double sided tape. Each of the door sections have hooks/clips that help with alignment and installation. The last section uses double sided tape to stick to the chrome trim and the glass.
I know this is about side deflectors but has anyone found/tried any roof deflectors? The fabric thingy (I have no idea what to call it) that pops up when the roof is fully opened must have been someone's idea of a practical joke. It is noisy and seems like more of an aerodynamic drag than anything else. I had a nice Honda one on my CRV, kept the noise down and added some shade. I've seen one that installs with double sided tape but I'm reluctant to perhaps damage the paint. Also, can it really hold up to the weather?

That looks nice, but the fact that it uses tape to stay in place bothers me because that makes it permanent. I want something that I could remove in the future if I didn't like it or if it did have problems, like cracking or fading or I just felt like it.

It's not that difficult to remove. A generous lathering of WD-40 makes quick work of the 3M double sided tape. I had a set on my previous vehicle and I had to remove them (after having been installed five years prior).
And then the clips just pop off with no damage? And this is probably a silly question, but the WD-40 doesn't damage the car's paint when you're spraying it all over the place?

No damage, if you are careful and patient. Use the little red straw to concentrate the spray and any towels to soak up the excess.
As a side note, it was quite hot and humid today. Thankfully, I was able to leave my windows open because of the visors to allow air to circulate in and out of the vehicle while at work. The interior was quite a bit more bearable than when I left the windows closed.

But don't all the bugs fly in then? I've never had window deflectors before, so I'm sort of on the fence about it. I do like the idea of letting air circulate in my car, but that also would mean a lot of dust and bugs going in, too, and I like to keep my car clean. I sort of like the way they look on everyone's photos, but it's also tough to say because everyone either has the A-spec trim or a black car. I have a blue Advance, so I'm not even sure if a chrome or black one would look better. I might kick it around in my head a little.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the look of the deflectors. Additionally, we rarely get any rain here in southern AZ, and almost always have very low humidity. Vehicles with deflectors are fairly rare to see here. I'll have to star noticing if they have license plates from more rainy areas.
If I lived in a local with a lot of rain, I might feel differently. Dunno...
I've never liked the look of deflectors, but they're usually sticking a little out from the car or look boxy. The pictures above look a lot sleeker and they're very close to the body, so I do like they way they look a lot more.
I just installed the six piece set and it’s decent but on the rear driver side door piece, the black chrome finish has a defect so it doesn’t match. Contacting them to see if they can send a replacement piece for it.
Do these help keep rain off the side windows? One of my gripes is that the aerodynamics on the RDX in terms of rain are poor. When it rains my side windows get a ton of rain drops and drips and added with glare at night I can barely see out the window or barely see my side mirrors. I always have to open and close the windows to squeeze the rain off every few minutes.

Like this pic enough to buy Wellvisors for mine as well. Install is pretty easy, the one thing they didn't mention in the instructions is what to do what the small sheet of clear vinyl square stickers. Each visor segment has small metal hooks that go over the edge of the door to provide support. The little squares of tape are meant to go under those hooks to protect your paint.
Other than that quite happy with the product and I like they way they look. The plastichome on the visors blends in quite well with the RDX chrome trim... if you're not looking for them they are easy to overlook.

I just got my wellvisors in and was wondering what the hell the little clear squares were for! Thanks for
posting that here before I just threw em’ out!
I'm on my second set after the first set became cloudy.
I’m pretty sure you could’ve use something like Meguiar’s Plastix and shine it back up rather than buying a second set. I just noticed mine is starting to oxidize so I plan on applying Plastix on it.

Tried it, but it wasn't to my liking, still seemed cloudy/milky. Don't have a random orbital polisher and doing the interior side would have been difficult and time consuming; much easier to simply remove the old one and reapply the new one.

For those with the Wellvisors how have they held up? I’m interested in picking up a set but am wary of the stick-on deflectors. I’ve always used in-channel ones but there aren’t many options for the RDX

I'm going on 2 years with them installed and have had 0 issues. The 3M adhesive has held up to the Texas heat and a few times we've dipped below freezing.

Holding up well on mine since installed in April 2020 (see post #23 above). The Wellvisor kit I got has small metal hooks that clip onto the door edge, so the tape is just part of the overall solution.
Those are the closest looking ones I've ever seen to what they used to sell as OEM for the 3G TL.
They look great, the 6 piece set. If I was going to put window visors on, that would be the way to go. Very cool.
And yes, they are plastic and the sun is rough...keep em ceramic coated or plan to have to replace them in 5 or 6 years when the sun
does it's damage.
