RDX PRL Intercooler Installation
Just installed my PRL Intercooler and the tear down of the bumper is pretty straight forward.
A few tips:
-removing the center crash bar is a must. All you need to do to remove them is remove the 3 bolts directly parallell to the headlights (circled in the picture above)
-the PRL instructions have the general removal instructions but if you want something detailed with some more information here is the PDF I printed: https://acura.bernardiparts.com/Imag...II11735-15.pdf
-Buy bumper clips ahead of time so you can use fresh ones for the install.Preferably one with the clip removal tool if you don’t have it and a variety of the long and short clips and screw.
-Before removing the bumper from the body, my advice is get a second person to help and if you can’t (like me) then put something to brace the bumper in the middle before pulling it off.
-Finally, buy heavy duty zip ties, the only hiccup I had, and in the moment it was a big one, the top bolt snapped on the Intercooler tube pipe while torquing it down. I managed to find a bolt and pressure squeeze the top section together and used zip ties to hold it together. My intention was to get the Intercooler drivable so I can try and pick up a replacement Intercooler tube pipe. Here is the part # in case you do what I do part (17283-5YF-A01) Acura Intercooler Pipe and 2x bolts
Hope this helps someone.
