Yeah, I'm observing 'dark' space, that could be misconstrued as a gap; however, it's difficult to believe they'd purposefully leave open areas in that fitment area between the box & factory air scoop.

Can't really tell from the video and I'd have to examine it visually first hand.

Maybe JJ163 above can take a few close-up pictures of that area to alleviate any concerns.

Besides, if they wanted to reduce 'box' temps even further they would have invested in some type of plastic injection molding models, like the factory unit of that box structure, as Comptech USA did with their intake boxes back in the day.

The thin metal construction of that box will heat soak very quick, just look at it,
The thin metal construction and the front 'slots' are what help transmit that cool desirable air whooshing sound when on & off the throttle.
