Hatch open sensor

Does anyone know where the rear Hatch open sensor is located? Is it perhaps around the hinges at the top?

I find that I occasionally need to carry something long in my RDX and the problem is that the alarm for the hatch open sounds constantly. What I want to do is to build a latching relay so that I can press a button and it will close a contact to make the car think that the rear hatch is closed. As soon as you turn off the power to the car, the latch will open and the car will operate normally again.

if there is no obvious button, then the sensor is built into the latch

I did find out the cover over the latch on the inside comes off extremely easy, and there are a number of wires & connectors in there. I will investigate and see if I can figure out which of the wires has the latch indication.

Thanks!
