Which AT&T plan for wifi?

I was wondering the same thing. I use Verizon for my phone so I don't get the "discount".
Are we supposed to get 3 months free or something like that with the WiFi or is that only with AcuraLink?

I’d go for “unlimited” (read the fine print) myself.

I have unlimited data and a hotspot on Verizon for my phone. I am setting mine up to kick on automatically when it connects to bluetooth, so I will have wifi inside the car at all times. $20 a month for AT&T is ludicrous...

Not a dumb question, and I'm not sure anyone here knows the answer at this time about how the updates will occur, but I suspect you would not need the wifi hotspot on the RDX activated. I've seen some other posts speculating that an update could be done by using your own phone as a hotspot and connecting to the unit via USB or bluetooth, or maybe even download the updates to a USB drive. I'm also thinking that you may need any of that. When I had an issue with my Acuralink, customer support connected directly to my unit remotely. And the phone app is getting some car information remotely. When I first installed it, I got some car information, and I remember seeing a message about connecting the phone to the vehicle via bluetooth to get even more info, so there does seem to be some remote communication even without bluetooth or a hotspot.

Advanced
I can use my residential gateway at home to check for system updates so it's not necessary to activate the RDX's Wi-Fi hot-spot with AT&T. So far there have been no updates and I get a system is up to date message when I check.

So just after posting my earlier response about updates, I was in the car in my garage (testing some 5.1 files), and I noticed a message that an update was available. So I clicked on it, it asked if I wanted to update via WiFi or usb. I never did connect my RDX to my home WiFi, and I didn’t set it up as a hotspot either, but I selected that option just to see what would happen. It proceeded to check for an update, but then said my system was up to date. How???
