Remove tailgate panels
??? Are they next to the doohickeys?
As I understand it, the whole tailgate skin ( exterior AND interior ) is molded and/or glued from composite into one piece, except for the spoiler, taillight assemblies and the internal mechanisms that are accessed through a small panel in the interior. But there is a metal structure inside the thing for security.
So AFAIK there is no interior panel to remove.

Ok thanks. I wanted to try and fix my groaning/moaning issue when closing tailgat . Took it a year ago to acura and the replaced some part . Stopped making noise but it came back. I just dont like taking it to the dealer. They dont know anything about the rdx 2019. Always give the run around to fix things.
Well, the hoist mechanisms are hidden above the back of the headliner, and that's where the transceiver gets installed for the optional remote start accessory. Looks like a major PITA to get access. Dunno if there are shortcuts, but breaking off tabs of the interior panels would be bad.

If it's the latch mechanism making noise late in the closing cycle, I believe you would access that through the small panel in the interior of the hatch.
I'm a DIY guy, but I think I would suck it up and take it to the dealer for this one.
If you can dig up the invoice from your prior repair, it should list a part number for the replaced part. You could look that up on oemacuraparts.
