And it still looks they they didn't put a storage area for the rear cargo cover under the floor. Sad. My friends Outback has one. The X3 has one. Small detail, but a pain in the rear when you are out and have to take the cargo cover out and have no place to store it....

And the welcome lights? Look at the complexity of the install! Why would this not be standard on a "premium" car?

the heated steering wheel is interesting...so you would get a whole new steering wheel.

Do anyone know if the remote starter will keep the car running after you touch the door handle to unlock the car? In the past, if I recall Acura remote starter stops the engine as soon as you walk up to the car.

OEM trailer hitch is 1.25" receiver. They pulled one out of a box for me to inspect. 1500 pound tow limit. I can't find a tongue weight rating, but it's a class I hitch, and those are typically limited to 200 pounds tongue weight.

I would want a 2" receiver for my bike rack. Also, looking at the trailer hitch install instructions for the Advance trim, you must buy a new hands-free module when installing a trailer hitch. I wonder if this will apply to aftermarket hitches as well...my suspicion is that it will given the diagram of the unit on the instruction sheet. I like the idea of the hands-free tailgate, but not more cost to modify when installing aftermarket hitch to get what we want...grrr

Can anyone verify the remote engine start? I assume they do this in house at the dealership? Since I will be picking up my RDX in 2 months or so, I'm a bit hesitant as I don't want them remove so many panels and risk breaking clips or reinstalling incorrectly (bad experience in the past with first gen cars).

A-Spec Heated Steering Wheel

Noticed in the install times that there is part numbers for the A-Spec version of the heated steering wheel. I was thinking that wasn’t going to be an option.

Remote engine start will be available across all packages through AcuraLink and the phone app for $110/year. You can add the extra key fob remote start to any package and it's done at the dealership. All Acura accessories are installed at the dealership, even tow hitches and roof rails.

Does the Advance come with the transmitter and key fobs factory installed? 'Remote start' is listed as standard on the Advance and as an option on the other trim levels.

The Advance comes with regular key fobs, the same as the other packages. I double checked Acura's website and didn't see the remote start listed under the Advance package, but I feel like I saw it on the spec sheet that was leaked a few days before the launch, is that where you saw it?

that's correct. Remote engine start via key fob is an accessory. I'm wondering if the transmitter is factory installed and all you need to do is purchase the key fob and have the dealer program it or do they also need to install the transmitter?

Heated Steering Wheels

So... When you build the '19 RDX on Acura.com and select the Advance Package option and then see what comes with it by clicking on "More Details," Heated Steering Wheel is among the inclusions for the Interior.

But, when you scroll further down the Build page and click on the Interior Accessories tab and "See All 12 Accessories," Steering Wheel - Heated is shown as an available accessory and costs $500.

What gives??

Curry Acura has them listed in their eBay store.
WeatherTech doesn't have anything yet.
I am supposed to get an email notice when they do.

Nope. Not there when I looked yesterday. They had 2018s all day. To be expected...guess they didn't get specs until after the embargo. I don't know how that works, though. Maybe they had the specs but it just takes a long time to re-tool or whatever it is they do to their equipment to manufacture mats specifically for a brand-new Year, Make, and Model.

Cargo Nets

I can’t see why I wouldn’t be able to use my 2017’s Cargo Net with the 2019. Can anybody?

Part number for 2017 is 08L96-TX4-200.
Part number for 2019 is 08L96-TJB-200
Cargo hooks are on the floor instead of on the sides.
Looks like it would fit with no problem.
They even use the same flower pot and gloves in the pix.

It shows in installation instructions they have to take apart stuff in the back seat area to install. Would of made sense to design it more like you described

I wondered the same thing. It is an error. My advance model came with it, so it does not apply

If you could try it and lets us all know, it would be great, since you can get them real cheap now.

I added the spare tire kit too, but my sales associate said there’s a 3 week back order.
1. Is this true?
2. Does the kit really not come with a tire?

Can't answer a question about back order but, the spare tire kit and compact spare have always been sold separately.

The Spare tire accessory kit has just become available. Before you had to buy all the parts separately, but now you can order 1 part number as a kit.

Remote Engine Start is $399, but one dealership is quoting $810 and another one, $893 (both include installation). Are you kidding me??

It is 1.3 Hours of labor time to install the remote start according to the document posted here. Thats about 160.00 in Labor at my local dealer, and if you paid full MSRP for the remote start (Available many places online for a minimum of 20% off) that brings it to $559.00. Both those dealers are charging ridiculous prices, so absolutely look elsewhere. You can get the part here for $265.29 https://www.factoryacuraparts.com/oe...er-08e92tjb200

Thank you. Charging $800 to ~$900 for Remote Engine Start is pure, unadulterated greed. I mean, that's just plain evil. I told one guy his price was "OFFENSIVE."

One honest broker actually quoted the exact amount you said ($559.00). He even included in his quote that I could also opt for the AcuraLink satellite remote package (free for 6 months, then $110.00 a year).

Guess who I'll probably get the car from.

Thanks for sharing this. I would want remote start on the fob, and it is helpful to know what that might entail in the negotiations.

Again, Curry has the remote starter kit for $299, but you still have to get it installed and programmed

Also good to know, thanks for posting. The $299 parts cost at Curry plus $160 in labor makes about $460 a fair-ish installed cost, although I have read that some buyers got remote start thrown into the deal. This is good information to have if the dealer quotes $800 or $900.

I got mine just under $500 installed as a “deal” with purchase.

From looking over the installation instructions, this install would take a few hours to complete. The dealership I use wants $650 installed and that is with a discount.

I'd do it myself if I didn't need the dealership to program it afterwards.

Cargo Net:

All the pictures obscure the corners. Does the cargo net come with hooks to hook on to the square ‘rings’ on the floor? They look like loops in the corner of the net, which don’t really work unless the anchor point is a hook instead of a ring.

Has anyone installed the roof rails themselves yet? Instructions seem straight forward. Just worried about the clips if they are a pita to take out.

2019 Acura RDX Front Lower Trim
http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/BII07802-15.PDF

Has anyone been successful at installing the front lower trim? I've been struggling with it all day and have given up. The instructions appear to be missing several steps. I appears to me that to remove the front lower trim, you must remove the Left and Right Chrome trim pieces because the sit in a grove which is part of the lower trip.

Thanks,
Mario

Red face Transfer Remote Engine Start ?

I currently have a 2016 Acura RDX w/Tech Package. It includes the Key FOB Remote Engine Start.

Is it possible to have that transferred to my (soon to purchase) 2019 Acura RDX w/Tech Package?

Yes I'm aware of the 6 month free phone app then $110/yr after that for the '19 but since I already have the hardware from the '16, I thought I could save the $$.

Any insight from the community would be helpful!

HI, I did it last week, no time at all. Be careful removing the stock trim strips, they are very thin and easily bent and creased if you pull up from the end. You should pull up at the back and move your hand forward as you pull it of the car. Well that is if you want to keep them.
The clips drop in really easy as long as you pay attention to the shape. They only go in one way. I had to remove one, I used a very thin blade that was only about 3.8 inch wide. I slipped it in the end and way able to pry it up pretty easy. No damage to it and was able to put it back in with no problem.
Good luck!

1. Is this true?

Normally the tire is separate from the "spare tire parts kit." My parts kit came in 2 separate orders.....all items were not in the first part # used. And then the tire was separate. IF they have 1 part # for all hardware, that is great, as
it should be and was for my TLX. But, the tire, I'm sure, will remain a separate buy. They come from a different vendor. Acura messed up with getting this "accessory" done up correctly for the RDX. It's not as if they didn't have it
done right for the TLX. 1 part # on the "Accessories List" and then the tire is separate. There are always some glitches during a start up of a vehicle "re-do." But, overall they launched a pretty well done model first time out. IMHO
