Horizontal scrolling - how?

I cannot figure out how to scroll the display horizontally using the trackpad. This comes up, for example, when there are more than a few favorites in the nav system: most of them are hidden from view.

This must be obvious to everyone but me, but please enlighten me.

Yep, just swipe left or right quickly. Likewise, if you need to scroll vertically on a list of items, such as your settings, you swipe up or down quickly.

It more like a sweep. Imagine a speck of dust that you are trying to get of a lens. A quick sweep

Thanks to those who responded. It does work for me now, though I find it awkward. Maybe it’s because, like 10% of the population, I’m left-handed. Designers routinely ignore us, and certainly did in this case. Drawing letters on the trackpad with the “wrong” hand is especially difficult.

An additional trackpad on the driver’s armrest would solve the problem. I wonder how this works in the right-hand-drive countries like England and Japan. I guess lefties have the advantage there.

Not great for us right-handers either. I gave up on it and just use the virtual keyboard instead - faster and more accurate.

The purported advantage of scribbling over the keyboard is that it can be done without taking your eyes off the road. The problem is that it takes so much mental energy and concentration that it’s a driving hazard anyway.
