I'm just wondering what most of you guys prefer with how you have the consoles, both my 360/PS3 are vertical to save space... but my friend came over and was like "WHY DO YOU HAVE IT LIKE THAT??!!" As if it was sooooooo wrong

oh, and if you guys know of any pros and cons to having either positioning, please input...

 

Since my 360 no longer plays disks when vertical, I really only have one option.

 

Vertical...well, except my Dreamcast and Xbox...cuz, those don't work...vertically.

 

I'd definitely go with horizontal...less probability of your disc scratching plus the biggest vent is at the bottom of the 360 if you have it vertical. In trying to keep it as cool as possible put it horizontal

 

wii goes vertical cause I think it looks better like that. 360 goes horizontal because I dont want it accidentally getting knocked over and having it eat the disc.

 

As unreliable as the 360's are, I always have had mine horizontal. I guess it didn't make a difference because my 2nd XBOX still broke two of my game CD's.

I've also heard that having your 360 vertical puts a ring around your discs.

 

I've had the 360 since the very beginning, literally (I was one of the lucky ones that got picked in a lottery on day 1), and I've always had it vertical... never had the ring problem... the only thing that happens and I have to admit it's pretty damn annoying is... anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours of playing... only on certain games... the 360 will stop and tell me that the disc is dirty (when it's not) and say I have to clean it.... It just pisses me off cuz this will happen in a middle of live match, lots of times when I'm doing good

 

I have my 360 horizontal and I still got rings around my GH3 disc! The day I got the game!

everything is horizontal since there is room for all.

 

I have my PS3 horizontal but vertical looks cooler.

 

i had this problem except worse, it would only read my games 50% of the time. so i called microsoft and they sent me a new one, but they also asked me to put it horizontal instead of vertical during troubleshooting.

 

horizontal for everything but the wii.

 

i put my gamecube on its side before..still works.lol but looks stupid as hell
