As I've opined previously, I'm guessing 2020. So should any prospective buyer.
If I'm wrong, bonus.

Exactly. Acura's management has known more than we do about the situation. I'm guessing that they're informing their salespeople how to handle the inquiry. IMHO, telling customers "any day" when they know better is deceptive, as is telling a potential customer all they'll have to do is download an upgrade. Let's be honest - they don't know when, how, or even if.

It may not be Acura's "fault", but dealers aren't being honest about the situation. As a two-time Acura customer, I find that disappointing. YMMV.

Perhaps he meant the 2020 RDX which is due the same time this year as last. First week of June is what I heard from a Regional Rep. Needless to say that is not that far away and if you Google the 2020 RDX you can read the preview specs. They are of course including Android Auto again. The other thing the Rep told me was the next update (no Release # or Date) will include the Android Auto App. So I am thinking it's getting close.

Huh? The only thing I've seen are bot generated articles that are wholly inaccurate, or auto bloggers' mere speculations that 2020 will be roughly the same. As far as I know, there are no credible sources online that can accurately and specifically detail what is in store for 2020.

My only point was stuff leaks. Because there is so many bits of misinformation I only post what I feel confident about. I have family who work for Acura Corporate and all I can say is that Android Auto will be in the 2020. That means that they must already have it more or less ready. That's why I was saying we should see an update for the 2019 at the latest when the 2020's show up. At least if that's June it's only 2 months away. After waiting 10 months already, I can do 2 more.
I didn't purchase a car based on whether Android Auto came with it or not. In fact when I first looked at the car I didn't even know what Android Auto was, LOL. I've been in Honda/Acura Products since 1989. I had 3 MDX's and this is my 3rd RDX. Compared to my 2016 model the 2019 blew me away with the performance and comfort. All the electronics were a bonus. I've always been an Android User so have always simply enjoyed streaming to the car via Bluetooth. Not ever having an Apple Product and always relying on "in-car" GPS or Garmin Units prior, I never really got into WAZE and other map/GPS products.
Having said that, I found an old iPhone 5s which was no longer active and updated it to the current IOS. I then tried it in the car using Apple CarPlay and got to understand why having the apps available was a good thing. I realized how unreliable the Traffic info was using the HA Radio method used in the RDX. It comes and goes and is very unreliable in my area. Fairfield County CT. You would assume being in the NY Metro area coverage would be good. But there are a lot of dead zones. I turned up the Hotspot in the car with AT&T and it has been pretty slick. So seeing how WAZE and even Google Maps worked was an improvement over the build in GPS. I then got excited to see Android Auto.
Anyway, that's all I was saying. Not suggesting I had seen anything official. All I can say is while you BOT Information may be accurate the stuff I was reading about the 2019 RDX in April of 2019 all was pretty much accurate.

We know (or presume) from what was recently posted in the 2020 RDX Owner's Manual, (thank you @EE4Life!) that Android Auto looks to be included in the 2020 RDX. I was reading about some of the new debuts at the NYC Auto Show (REALLY WISH i could get there again this year!). According to Autoblog, the 2020 Toyota Highlander now has Android Auto, a first for a Toyota product. I would guess that Lexus including it soon is a no brainer.
Come on. Acura!

I talked to a exec at the auto show who told me he recently used Android auto (as beta) on an RDX, so it is coming. It worked, he used it, it exists, just a matter of when (so he said).
Disclaimer: we have heard that before... but just adding that he used it on an RDX test.

New version from google
Just saw this... https://www-autoblog-com.cdn.ampproj...-big-update%2F
Interesting. New wider screen support. Maybe this is what has delayed it on the RDX.

Guys - been lurking her since the RDX hit the roads and am getting ready to lease this summer.
The 2020 is on the way to my dealer as I write this. So, we'll know the answer with regard to AA shortly. Its a critical issue for me. I'm driving a Lincoln MKX right now (which, btw, has been a surprisingly positive ownership experience). and it has Ford's fantastic Sync 3 system. I got absolutely addicted to AA and can't see buying a vehicle without it.

That's good advice! I agree with that strategy. My lease is not up until August - and I want to make the deal before I depart on my vacation (in early July). The 2020 will be widespread by then, and I'll hopefully have a chance to come in and play with the system and my phone.

I hope this is totally irrelevant, but it might not be. The Apple CarPlay in our 2019 RDX restarts frequently. It is rare for it to be able to get through a few songs before starting to crackle and pause. A little while later the music stops, a message on the screen says the phone is not connected and CarPlay restarts. We've been told it's an Apple issue, but I have my doubts. If the car were my daily driver, I would give up and use the auxiliary port to play my music. I find it intolerable and unacceptable. We have tried using different cables and reinstalling CarPlay. Our dealer has so far been unable to help.

I just saw in another thread that the solution to the CarPlay problem I described is to do a factory data reset on the infotainment system. I wish I had seen that before posting here . . . Back to Android Auto! I hope it's released soon.

Well, my brother did finally get the 2020 RDX on the lot and why am I not shocked. No Android Auto so the speculation that it would be delivered with the 2020 Model was wrong. Supposedly a beta is out there but it's certainly not a public beta.

I sent an email to Acura customer relations asking about Android Auto availability for the 2019 RDX and got a reply the next day from them saying that they have no scheduled release date for Android Auto.

Sucks - just confirmed the same with someone on RDX FB Fan page....not in the 2020. So weird they have it in the user manual. It's obviously been developed to some level as the manual shows pics of it. Possible that's an early build and they're having to update it with the latest Android Auto update that just came out for touchpads and widescreens? Who knows but it went from "late may" to "July" from last I heard from local service director.

Fun fact of the day: 103 retired cop cars were wrecked in the making of Blues Brothers (1980 ). And 104 in the sequel ( 2000 ). Just cuz.

So i texted my sales guy yesterday just to see what the latest news was on AA. He said last month he went to an Acura event in Vegas for top level sales people. There, he was informed that the current delays are due to a back and forth "battle" between Acura and Google over the amount of data that Acura will allow to be shared from Android Auto in the RDX. Apparently Google is requesting various data from the system to be shared with them (usage patterns, etc). However, Acura does not want to allow this and they're at an impasse for now until it gets resolved. This is kind of frustrating to hear - who knows how long it could take them to fight it out. He sounded pretty convincing. Anyone heard anything similar?

Right, I mentioned this as well but apparently it has to do with the new version of Android Auto coming out and since the RDX is such a high seller they're apparently trying to obtain data that they didn't before...seems it's part of Google's development for the new Android Auto replacement - Google Assistant for the car or whatever it will be called. It seems to be a different story every time so who knows. All I know is I wish they would resolve whatever issues they're having and release it soon!
