Details are coming in but it looks like while the touchpad stays the same and there is that awful split screen in the native infotainment system, carplay (and persumably Android auto) will be full screen.
This is a welcomed change. I wonder if we can code this feature into our models. Any thoughts?
I'm hoping my 2022 ASPEC Advance gets it...but I've been told that Acura does not trickle down such features.
If it's a simple firmware update, it would be very stupid to not update all previous gens especially since this vehicle hasn't really changed much since 2019.
Just give us all this update, why limit it? Helps with customer loyalty ad elevates the brand.
Totally agree on this one. This is my firsy RDX with previous cars being BMWs and in that domain there are lots of ways to "program" firmware and change features as there are companies who have written code which is uploadable using the OBD2 port. Lack of similar bredth of choice for the RDX is disappointing a little as well.

So I reached out to Acura about implementing full screen CarPlay in my 2022 and this is the response:
“Thank you for contacting American Honda Motor Co., Inc regarding your feedback about the full screen display for the Apple Carplay for the 2022 RDX. We want to thank you for providing us the opportunity to respond to your message.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding a potential update to merge the A-zone and B-zone into a full-screen experience. Currently, there is no information about an update to merge the A-zone and B-zone to create on full screen.”
Just traded in my lease (2022 RDX aspec for a 2025 RDX aspec) and I immediately noticed the full screen using Waze (using wireless Android Auto) and it was glorious
One drawback for me though was that I was used to looking at the clock on the right hand side and now, the only clock on the display is in a tiny font on the upper left corner (near the cell phone battery life/signal strength).

I didn't see a more recent post or thread on this topic, by my 2024 RDX Advance received an OTA update today that included full-screen Android auto! Waze looks great in full-screen mode. I didn't capture the update data and have no idea when it might have come out as I haven't checked for updates in a couple months.

Hey guys just performed the update yesterday.
found that a system update was available and used my cellphone as a hotspot to perform this update.
CarPlay has full screen function without the split in the middle.
i must say i like it. But still not snake template any videos
