I was being facetious when I started the thread, in that I bought white because I like it and it's easy to maintain, not to mention it's the best for our 100+ degree summer days. Those are attributes that make it a super popular color around here by far. Every car dealer in this area says white is their #1 seller, and among interiors, beige is the #1 choice.
I also think it has to do with the higher lease trend as cars get more expensive.
Manufacturers are charging more for non white or black cars. If buying then you will pick the color you really want but if leasing then you say "I'm not paying $400-$1000 for a car I'm turning in 3 years later"
I personally hate it because it really does look boring out on the road.
Just look at the German cars....... Almost all white or black
I might be bias but I prefer the 2020 platinum white pearl cause it's more ' whiter' than the 2019 white diamond pearl which is a bit more yellow.
For my eyes, hard to tell the difference unless I see them side by side. Both are metallic, so both lack the pop in a non-metallic white (is that the racing/ white? ).
White has been the “it” color for the past few years. I swore I wouldn’t get White Diamond Pearl because it’s too yellow, but ended up with it anyway because the dealership didn’t have any Majestic Black Pearl in stock.

Similar here, I wanted RED, but none available anywhere around I so went with White Diamond Pearl. Parchment interior was a must. Not the worst color, but it's the same as our other car, and I would have preferred a bit of variety. Oh, and my wife doesn't like red cars so i guess it was better this way. lol
The irony of this thread is that I've ALWAYS wanted a white car but have never ever had one. I've had gold, silver, green, black, grey, and dark blue. But never white, hopefully the next car will be white!!
My first 3 cars were silver (when beige was the most popular, ca. 1998), grey green, and light blue, even though I wanted a white car. I did my part trying to be unique. Cars 4 & 5 have been white and now I plan to stick with white forever.
Our old car and truck are both white, when we started looking at the RDX my wife said any color but white this time just because it is so common. She ended up picking bronze because we hardly ever see that color but boy, does it ever show the dust compared to white.

Hahaha so you totally get it! If for whatever reason I can't get white next time, I'm absolutely NOT getting black. I will never ever get black again. What an absolute nightmare to keep clean.
On white you can't see scratches, chips, swirls, and dust very well. Silver by far has been the best for scratches, chips, and even a decent amount of dirt. But silver really hides the details (I guess so does white) so it's a trade off.
So tired and bored with white and silver but the espresso interior is beautiful in the rdx.
My preferred spec would be a ‘20 Advanced SH-AWD in dark blue (sapphire ?) with espresso interior. I also hate the chrome trim on the advanced in all colors except red and blue.
I went with white pretty much because it was the best option that was available with the espresso interior. I love that leather color! It's like being held in the palm of a giant baseball glove. I would have gone with Modern Steel otherwise. I thought about red but it's too flashy for me. I did think about maybe wrapping the car to get something more to my liking, but I don't even know what color would look good on this car. White is growing on me.

My thoughts exactly! I also love the espresso interior, so got “stuck” with white, but really wanted blue. When I was shopping for my 2019, it seemed like every competitor offered a brown interior with blue exterior except Acura. Even at the local car show, that was the color combination that was on display by the local Audi, BMW, and Lincoln dealerships.
I like the chrome on the white. But when we first got the car, I suggested to my wife we change the trim and wheels to gold. I was only half joking. White and gold, or red and gold.. even blue and gold would look cool. All three, even better!
Maybe this will be my inspiration if I ever wrap my RDX:

Honestly, that would look SWEET!! You really should look into doing that! It would be so unique and refreshing!
Does acura list sales number for color and trim combination?
I probably chose the most popular combination White Aspec cause I fricken see so many around town. Wife wouldn't let me choose blue after I told her my observation. Whatever. If you cant beat them. Join them.

I just got the bugs scrubbed off the front of my WDP car after a road trip in early October.
( Woulda done earlier, but hurt my elbow crashing on my bicycle during said road trip ).
Random injuries aside, definitely not low maintenance in the bug season.
But then there's the white road salt on my wife's charcoal MDX.
Maybe there's a reason for silver.

Uh, no.
Actually now that you mention it, silver is absolutely the best color for hiding filth. Though no color is hiding a smattering of bugs after a good road trip.
Also sorry to hear about your elbow, hope you are feeling better!
