Interesting. Not sure if its the drivers or not, but the RDX generally seems quicker off the line. Also not sure how often you would see two SUVs dragging anyway.

I had mine at a drag strip a while back. It managed 15.3 at 93 mph. Usually only bona fide mid 14 second cars manage mid 90s trap speeds. Where the RDX has trouble is off the line. 60' times of 2.6 seconds are the stuff of late '70s family sedans with carbs and 2.43 axle ratios. Floor the pedal off the line and it oozes ahead like an 80cc two stroke motocross bike at low revs. Then after what seems like an eternity, all hell breaks loose and the vehicle rips ahead like a switch had just been flipped.
My track time doesn't rationalize what I see on that video. I am betting that RDX was tuned.

Under controlled conditions the Audi beats the RDX 10 out of 10 times. That video was meaningless as both drivers (and the Audi driver in particular) were incompetent.

I tend to keep my cars. I could not locate a Q5 or an X3 that had all the driving aids I was buying a car to get. Too, long term, I thought the RDX would be easier to maintain. But it was getting the driving aids at an acceptable price. (There was only one X3 near me that had adaptive cruise control, and it was loaded up to 65K.). I was coming from a 535, so I know how expensive the Germans can get to keep.

Both cars are about 6.XX seconds to 60 mph, implying both cars are peppy but neither have any bragging rights in today’s world of performance. It appears Audi’s 261HP/273 lbs-ft engine puts down a little more wheel horsepower than Acura’s 272HP/280 lbs-ft engine. Both cars weigh the same and the Audi consistently pulled on the RDX once off the line. Given that the Audi is a hybrid, I’d expected better off the line response. Or perhaps Acura’s 10AT transmission helped. It’s quick 1st gear seemed to help the car launch well and the 10AT also seemed to kick down faster from a roll. I think Acura's 10AT deserves more recognition than it gets.
