Upgraded RDX's
Upgraded RDX's
Greetings. Been here a while, just not much posting. Back in 2013, my wife and I bought her a 2014 RDX base model. It was short on tech but a great vehicle. My wife loved the car and didn't want to upgrade until . . . she got tired of manually opening and closing the tailgate. Which occurred last week. I did a quick Carvana "trade in" quote and was shocked at how much they offered. Found a 2020 RDX Tech model here at the local Carvana and pulled the trigger. Got it yesterday. My wife loves the tailgate button! Seriously it's a great upgrade for her and she couldn't be happier. As mentioned here, the work around with the tech is odd, but I believe with time and practice, she'll get it to do the things she needs. We have a 100 day Carvana warranty and about 10 months left on the original warranty. The Acura dealer here is very close to our home and they already know us so it's like home. Still watching Youtube videos on how to work everything. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes she is already enjoying her car. This morning we got her bluetooth connected and I was able to get the garage door opener working. I had to use the learn button on the opener to get the homelink button to work, but it works. This morning she was outside cleaning her new baby. There were a couple of plastic parts in the car that the Carvana people didn't know where they went. First piece was for the rear view mirror. It's a panel to access the guts of the rear view mirror. Snapped right in place, Second was the panel to the cabin filter. Again snapped into place. Car came with a weather tech like floor mat all through out the car. No one ever removed the front carpet mats from their connectors so the mats just moved around. Got that sorted as well. Then we began trying to figure out the radio. Got the Sirius reconnected and we're trying to figure the quickest path to get from XM to FM. Next on my list is learning how to work Apple carplay. It's not lit up on the screen and my first guess is she needs to connect the phone via usb. I'm headed to youtube shortly. lol. Glad to be here. Look forward to reading about your vehicles.

I don't have an IPhone but I can think of 2 reasons why it isn't lit up. 1 is like you said, the 2019-2021 RDX had cable driven Carplay/Android Auto so you need to connect via USB, and 2 she will need to have the Carplay app downloaded on her phone in order to use it.
Lol I hate when I buy a used car and suddenly find a couple random trim pieces in a random bin. Then I have to playa fun game of finding out what the heck it's for 🤣🤣. But glad you got it sorted out!

Hi and thanks. I used a usb plug and it activated carplay. I don't believe she has the app on her phone, but I'll check. On to the next thing and that is this auto stop button. Looks like you have to turn it off every time. That's annoying. Oh well one step at a time.
Thank you for the correction, Android had (has) an app the last time used Android Auto like 3 or 4 years ago on a rental Durango but I definitely was not sure about how Apple does it or if Android still requires an app. I have never owned a vehicle with either feature.

Sorry please disregard the app suggestion as another user corrected me on that, there is no app.
The Android Auto App is also an imbedded feature. Has been this way for a few years.
Regardless, thank you guys for the corrections! Much appreciated!
