Transmission issue
Transmission issue
2 times now while driving after about 45 minutes then stopping at a traffic light upon taking off the transmission will not shift out of gear not sure what gear it's in there is not much power since I need to give it full throttle to move fast enough then then it will redline and will not shift. I stopped and was able to shift from D to reverse and park but in D it would not shift until I turned the car off and restarted it. I did not notice any lights on the dash while this happens called the dealer and of course they never ever heard of this. Anyone here experience anything like this?
Also when I turn the car off about 75% of the time I here a low pitched horn sound for several seconds. Sounds like your horn would with a dead battery

"Horn" sound could be a known issue with the expansion valve in the A/C unit. If so, the noise should be coming from the passenger side interior under the dash. There is a TSB on this, and dealer service should know about it.
Transmission issue needs dealer diagnosis, unless perhaps you have inadvertently put the transmission into manual sequential shift mode with the paddle shifters.

That's not good. Even in Comfort D, upshifting with the paddle should cause it to shift, at least momentarily, and display the gear you're in.
I reported the same issue to Acura 4 months back and the dealer had never heard of it ever happening. This morning as I was pulling out of the dealer I heard a loud "thump" and the car was stuck in first gear. I tried manually shifting the gears and changing drive modes and nothing. So I turned the car around and returned it back to the dealer and they were able to find an error code on their computer. Since they aren't allowed to open any transmission parts, they will be installing me a new one. If it happens again I would say to record what is happening and present it back to dealer. Luckily my dealer has been on top of my vehicle, especially with all the issues going on with it.

ray1968. Once I get the car back with the paperwork, I will post on here. There were going to run additional tests on it while they had it to see what could be triggering the transmission failure as well as get engineers from California to take a look. They estimate a couple weeks at least.
Dealer update: So I got a call from the dealer and it turns out they have also found another issue. The onboard computer in my car is not storing any of the error codes, thus might be one of the reasons they can't figure out all these issues until it actually happens since the dealer can't pull the car's history of issues/codes.
Well, I'm pretty sure mine is retaining failure codes. I had a camera system failure when I got the car. I brought it back and they changed the camera module in the head liner but they didn't clear the code. When I run my Blue Driver OBD, the code is still there. No matter. I could clear it but I choose not.
