Trailer Hitches

Anyone installed an aftermarket trailer hitch, and if so, which ones? The U-haul hitch looks like it installs without modifying or changing the rear bumper trim.

Check this thread; https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-hitch-980672/

I have the 2” Curt hitch installed - I think I paid around $150 for it and another $100 to have it installed by my local mechanic. No mod of the bumper necessary, and it works fine, though it does seem to sit low and I don’t know how that would affect real towing. I just use it for bike rack.

Thanks for the link. A bike rack is all I would use it for as well. Dealership wants $700 just for parts, add installation and a decent bike rack and and you're close to $2k... I'd rather spend the $1300 savings on bike stuff!

No kidding - that’s a lot to pay for a OEM hitch, plus installation. As you’ll see in the other threads some folks even did it themselves without too much trouble. I might have done the same but for the fact that I live in New York and don’t have a garage to work on my car.

Note: I don’t have the Curt, I have the Draw-Tite.

I ask my mechanic when doing oil change, since the car is already up in the hoist, he only charge me $20 to install draw-tite..
