Text messages in D.1.2.1

I have not had text messages show up in the HUD or on the center screen since the D1.2.1. I have tried a few things with the phone and car, turn on/off notifications on both, turn on/off bluetooth. If nobody else is having this problem, I will delete the phone/car and re-introduce them.

Thanks for any input.

Billy

If your using car play you will never see the actual
message, you’ll only get a screen notification and you have to click on it and Siri will read it to you and ask if you want to reply. Several other options will also appear on screen to choose from. You can either pick one of the options by voice or use the touchpad. As for aa I don’t use it.

Pretty much the same with AA. Its wonderful to be able to speak a reply. Eyes on the road.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. This is a bluetooth connection, not wired. I used to see who the message was from and little part of the message in the HUD and also on the "B" screen.

I believe there is a setting either in the Bluetooth menu or phone menu when making calls on Bluetooth. It has worked for me a handful of times but I use CarPlay exclusively now. Have you poked around in the manual? I know it’s there.

I have poked around in the cars menus, haven't read the manual.

Will give that a shot, thanks.

What are you using for a phone?
I couldn't get the Bluetooth hands free text option to work with my iPhone 7. Didn't work before or after the update so I gave up. I didn't put more than about 10 minutes effort into it.

Just connected my 10s max and it’s not available as an option for iPhones anymore. Used to work when I first got the car. Dam Apple and Bluetooth. Back to car car play.

I have an iPhone 7. The text reply didn't work until iOS 13 and it started after that.

Hey Billy I found it! For iPhones go to settings, Bluetooth, chose the device that says Hands Free Link. That one should be the RDX. Turn on show notifications and the vehicle should read you any incoming messages. I’ll try it in the morning on my way to work. Here is a screen shot from Acura’s How To Videos page

Thanks, but mine doesn't even show that any more. I think I am just going to have to delete the phone/car pairing and we pair.

Not much effort, but I wish I could find the magic setting.

The setting is on the iPhone and not the car. Sorry I should have made that clear.

That is ok.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and suggestions. I had changed a few settings over a couple of days and I am now getting messages in the HUD and on the "B" screen.

Not sure what it was that I changed, but it works.

Need to go back to my old habits of only changing one thing at a time and testing.
