I have had a rattle noise in my car ever since I got my new RDX (Tech SH-AWD) which now has 5000 miles. I only hear it when I am on a bumpy road. I finally took it to the dealer for the service manager to ride with me and listen. He says it is the sunroof. He says because the sunroof is so large it is more prone to flexing and rattling. He said the large size of it makes it a bad design. He is going to try to put some double sided foam tape (or foam something) to try to solve the rattle but he makes no promises. Has anyone else who has had a sunroof rattle had it improved by the service department?
I had the 2011 Audi Q5 and in the first year it developed a loud rattle in the panoramic sunroof. Audi replaced the entire sunroof which ended the rattle. I had the Q5 for 7 years after that and the entire car didn't have a rattle with over 100K miles. My 2019 RDX has a rattle which sounds like it's coming from the sunroof. I'm planning on taking to the dealer to fix the rattle.
I think any dealer/service manager who says the car I just bought for $45-50K is a bad design is an idiot. Acura dealer service is absolutely horrible compared to every other luxury dealer. If my Acura dealer refuses to fix any problem on a new car under warranty, even rattles, I'll raise hell with Acura.

My MB GLK also had a roof leak within 3 months of purchase. Doesn't happen all the time, washing the car doesn't reproduce the problem. The dealership took 2 days and had it under a rain bath to reproduce the problem. No questions asked, no fighting and hell raise necessary. Hope you get the same treatment from your Acura dealership.
I had a rattle over the rear passenger door, the rattle would only happen over rough road. It was very annoying when I had taken the then-new RDX on a 4,000 road trip back in September. If you pushed up slightly on the headliner above the door, just above the black trim it would go away. When I got my first oil change I mentioned to the services department. They had a tech do a ride-along with me driving. Because there were no rough roads in the area we took it onto the freeway. He had me drive over the rumble strips on several occasions awhile he pounding and poking the liner with his hand. He finally said he could hear the rattle and that it may be the light assembly above the door. Have not had a chance to ride it on any rough roads lately, I'm hoping it was fixed.

I had some rattling there from the rear passenger light area in the headliner when I first had the car, but the sound went away and I don’t really hear it now. Also check the rear seat backs for the back seats, my driver side one was loose when locked in and made rattles over bumps, they tightened it up and no more problems. They said the other rdx’s on the lot were even looser then mine but glad they still fixed it
I get a rattle, buzzing, on rough road surfaces. Definitely right rear. I tapped the plastic headliner on that side above the rear cargo area and it sounds like the same noise. I’m going to try and wedge something between where the plastic roof panel meets the side back there and see if that’s stops it.
The headliner uses almost like a Velcro but a stronger version to hold it up. Go around and push hard on the headliner to reattach any pieces that may of come loose
To me it looks like the part that is on the headliner is turned the wrong direction to get optimal connection, whoever built these at the factory must of been having an off day

I didn't want to resurrect this old thread, but I'm experiencing the same with my 2019 RDX A-Spec. It started after the first oil change (5000 miles). It is at the dealership right now (they've already attempted two times, and on their third attempt, same visit). Yesterday, they said they had resolved the issue, but apparently not.
I have a loaner, 2020 RDX, and I had the service manager sit at the back, and performed several light side-fist taps / bang on the center panoramic beam. It didn't make any rattle sound. I had him go into my car, and I've performed the same light side-fist taps / bang, and he can immediately hear it.
What's been done so far (all from rear of vehicle):
1st attempt - They've found a loose rear washer hose - they've taped it up
2nd attempt - They've found a loose "module?" - they've taped it up
3rd try - TBD - Waiting for what they find

Reason: grammar
My worst rattle is the round button on the left side of the front passenger side headrest. Every time I go over very rough road it rattles like crazy within the round housing. They switched one headrest for another one but that did not help. Later they replaced the button mechanism in the second head rest. Still rattles !!!
What I thought initially was a sunroof rattle now seems to be the headrest button rattle. When I hold the button the rattle stops. Rattles can be tough to locate.
