Stiff infotainment USB port

Stiff infotainment USB port
Hi, I'm new here and just got a 2020 RDX. When I picked up the car, I tried plugging in my phone's USB cable into infotainment system's USB port (the port for Car Play/Android Auto) and the cable refused to go in. I then tried it in the other USB port in the car (front passenger) and it went in just fine. I tried again in the infotainment USB port, wiggling it, pushing a bit harder, and nothing worked; it wouldn't go in, not even a little bit. Finally, I gave it a bit of a harder push, thinking maybe the port was stiff since it's new, and the entire port just gave in. Whatever was holding the port in place either snapped or let go, and the port was rendered useless. This all happened just as I got the car from the dealership so needless to say, it wasn't the experience I was hoping for with my first brand new car purchase! Anyway, the dealer replaced the port, but the port is the same stiffness. The dealer is blaming the cable, but this is the cable that came with the phone and the same cable works fine in every other USB port I've tried--multiple laptops, hotels, and even the other USB port in the RDX.
Has anyone had a similar experience using the infotainment USB port? Any suggestions?

Goes in fine for me, What kind of phone are you plugging in? and maybe you should get a small USB extension cable then plug your phone in. In the manual they do suggest people can use that at times.

Same thing just happened to me with a flash drive for the recent map update and my Apple cable goes in really tight tight. It’s the same thing on the old plug and new one.I bought a new usb plug and the dealer charged me $141 to install it. I just leave my lightning cable plugged in 24/7.

There was at least one other post about this (maybe others but I'm too lazy to search). I think the only problem is the port is in a bad location and at an awkward angle so maybe some people are having trouble plugging in to it.
Your dealer should replace the port and anything else to get it to work properly. The port is vital to much of the infotainment system's functionality.

That was me your referring to. The main USB port is a tight fit. You don’t get this resistance when plugging into the other ports. I still get it with the new flash drive I bought for the map update and with the extension cable I bought. It’s not the angle and I am very much capable of plugging in a usb cable.

I didn’t even bother with asking about fixing it under warranty. I had already ordered and received the new usb harness. My dealer already had my car to realign the rear hatch so I had them to swap the harness out at the same time. He only charged me for the labor. If it wasn’t so much work to take apart the center console I would have done this myself and with a upcoming shoulder surgery it’s too hard for me to do. Whoever makes the usb plug needs to do better with quality control. It should not be that tight.
