Steering wheel audio controls does not work.
So I was driving and could not change my volume nor skipping songs. Heck, the power button doesn’t even work. I tried to hard boot the infotainment system but still no luck. Does this happen to anyone else. I might have to take this to Acura. Just a hassle for another issue :/

I've had this once or twice in 22,000 miles 19 months. It hasn't happened in quite some time, perhaps the last time was before the last OTA update. It fixed itself after I shut off the car (when safely stopped), opened the driver's door. closed door, restarted car. All fixed.
It's like the system didn't boot properly. I guess it happens.

I've also experienced the steering wheel audio controls not working. It happens intermittently, maybe 25% of the time. Usually I can just hit the power button to cycle it off and then back on and then it works fine again.

This happened to me this morning. Started up and hit the road, then noticed that the steering wheel volume control did not work. Also, the NAVI was going wacky, with the map spinning wildly and the little location indicator flopping around haphazardly. When I got to a red light, I shut off the car, opened the door, then restarted but that did not solve the issue.
When I got to my destination, I did a 3 finger reset, rebooted the unit, but the steering wheel volume did not work. The pop up menu in the main dashboard came up when I pressed the steering wheel button, but I could not select anything on that little menu. Also, when I pressed the voice control button on the steering wheel, I got a pop up message that the speech recognition function was not working. SWELL
Went into the office, and when I came out later, I fired up the car and everything worked. Everything.

Acura's artificial intelligence is self-correcing.
The whole car is made out of nanobots that are self-healing. If your engine throws a rod, just pull over and take an Uber to work. Go back tomorrow and the car will be all better.

This might not apply to your situation, but I noticed that once the maintenance minders start popping up, you can’t used the steering wheel audio controls until you push one of the wheels to “acknowledge” the minder. Every. Damn. Time. Very annoying.

I once had the whole infotainment system take a vacation. 3-finger salute didn't fix it. I had to drive to work with no radio or nav. Planned to go out later to start pulling fuses or disconnect the battery.
When I went out about 2 hours later, I'm glad I started the car first just to try it. All was good.
Probably about 15 minutes?
I remember ir from my BMW days, when the gearshift light would stay on for several minutes after the car was off, and there was a lot of ‘sleep’ talk about it on the blog. I think they said the bimmer took around 15 or so minutes. It freaked me out when I first got the car and the Park light on the gearshift stayed on. But it eventually went off.
I wonder how you can test this with our cars.

This wasn't the case, but it will be soon. I'm about to come up to the 60,000 check-up, which is very expensive they tell me. Huge bucks for an oil change. I usually trade in the car before I get to this point, but there is no new 2022 RDX to check out. Oh well. Probably for the best

Got the same issue, reboot did not work. Seems to be related that you first have to dismiss any pop-up screens such as "fasten your belt" or "maintenance due soon". After I dismissed those pop-ups, they started to work.
I think the current update is 1.5.1 but it seems like a long time since that was released. Has there been another?
If anyone wants to know more about the Corsair, please send me a private message. I really don't feel it is right to compare another brand vehicle unless I am asked, and even then, I think it is a bit inappropriate.
I am not sure. My RDX was rear ended in April to the tune of over $12,000, and I traded it for a '21 Lincoln Corsair Reserve. It fits my needs and likes much better than the RDX. BUT my needs and like are likely different than most RDX owners. I prefer a quiet vehicle, I have no need to hear the engine in the cabin, and even though I got good with the tru-touch pad, it is shockingly easy to use the touch screen again.

Luckily never had a problem with steering wheel controls.
That's interesting. While we have really no complaints with our 2020 RDX, the noise and firm ride do sort of bug me a bit. We saw the Corsair at an auto show but back then inventory was lacking, so didn't test drive one. Now I kind of wish we had.

My steering wheel controls always worked in my '19 RDX, in fact I got pretty good at using them instead of the tru-touchpad for many routine infotainment needs.
