For those of you with an Aspec, how difficult was it to have the spare tire kit installed? It it a direct-fit installation, or do things need to be modified?
Thanks very much for any insight you can offer!

I bought the spare kit online and intended to install it myself but ended up taking it to the dealer and had them do it. I don't think there was anything that needed to 'modified'. Also, as I recall there are two spare tire kits that are available for the RDX, one is more specific to the A-Spec (which is what I have) and had a slightly different tire size as I recall. Inside the RDX under the cover in the back, there were some Phillips head screws that needed to be removed and I could not get at least one of them, as I recall, to loosen. Out of fear that I would destroy the screw head, I gave up. Someone posted later that those screws can be tough, but to use a #3 screwdriver. I am sure I was using a #2 and maybe that was the problem. Just as an FYI I also kept the compressor/goop unit that came with the car in that storage area under the lid and just figured I would have the best of both worlds when it came, if ever, to a flat. That there is no spare with that car, which I guess is somewhat common these days, was kind of unbelievable....at least I didn't realize it didn't have one when i bought it. There are enough variations of a 'flat' that the compressor/goop thing could not fix that I had to have a spare...just in case.
