Season of Performance Event Question

After what has been a tumultuous 24 hours of searching pre-owned 2019 RDX's, feeling that I had found the winner... I just now discover that new RDX's are being sold with 0.9% financing now.

Questions for those of you who would know...
- How stringent were the qualifications? (we have excellent credit, so I'm not too worried, but still)
- Was a down payment required? (we used our money to pay off our other car...)

We got 0.9% on our ASpec. I think the minimum credit score was like 720 or 740. We put $0 down - why would you at that rate? We also got the $1500 loyalty cash that was offered - so ask for that as well. Good Luck!

Keep in mind that dealer receives additional rebate from Acura (1000-1500) when car is financed through Acura at Regular APR (excludes 0.9%).
So if you don’t qualify for 0.9, ask to discount purchase price by 1500.

We’ve purchased 3 Acura’s previously - a 2015 RDX Tech, a 2018 RDX Advance and this new 2020 ASpec. We wanted to buy from the same dealer, but they can be stubborn on price, so we negotiated the price of the car, with the accessories we wanted, via e-mail. Once the price was at a point that we were ok with, we shopped that deal around to other dealers in the area to see who would give us the best deal. We found that most could only go so low, before they all started to match each other. So we took the best deal and presented it to the dealer we wanted to buy from via e-mail, and told them to meet it or exceed it or we would buy elsewhere. They in turn exceeded it “to retain our business”. That’s how we do it each time and walk away with deals we feel are fairly decent. My suggestion is to negotiate price, then talk financing and any discounts that may apply. You know that if your credit is above the 720/740 threshold, you’re golden with the financing. Look at the Acura website for offers. Most will tell you if they can be combined or not. We paid $44,500 (not including the $1500 discount) for our 2020 black ASpec. In that deal, we also got all weather Acura floor mats and cargo mat, splashguards, dealer installed remote start and 2 new keys, dealer installed spare tire kit, and a rear cargo cover - all included in the price. We got 0.9 financing and the $1500 Acura loyalty rebate to reduce the price even further. From an MSRP of $47,195, reduced to $43,000 (with discount) and all accessories listed above, I think we did fairly good. Good Luck with your purchase!

You dont need to but from same dealer... I bought 2 last Acuras from same local dealer (5min drive from my house), like their service deparment.
but 2020 rdx they really wanted to screw me over with price... I guess as a way to thank me as a repeat customer, so I said FU, drove 40min to another dealer and got 2k better price. So much for my loyalty and being repeat customer!
I am bringing my car for service to the local dealer, and they are still happy to see me!
sales and service are two different animals

$1500 loyalty rebate has nothing to do with another $1500 dealer kick back from Acura if you finance with acura (excludes 0.9%)

Similar experience. My local dealer is 10 mins away. Next closest is an hour and 45 minutes. I tried my local dealer for my ‘17 RDX and saved $3,800 by driving the hour and 45 minutes. Tried local again for my ‘19 RDX and saved over $4,000 this time by going back to the dealer an hour and 45 mins away. Always service at my local dealer and their service dept. is amazing. It’s just their sales dept. that’s lagging.

Man, that sucks. I wonder what the General Manager would think about that?

i am very glad my local “in town” dealership wanted my business and gave me a great deal. It set the tone for what I hope will be a long-lasting relationship between me and this Acura dealer.

You know when you walk in and they ask you where do you live? Well, if you are local, I would not be surprised that they feel like they can ask for more money. They think that you like the convenience of buying local. However, when you call to dealership that is remote, they know they have to be aggressive in pricing to get you to come over which means it’s has to be better price than local dealer.

Almost EXACT same experience here. There's a dealership right down the road that does great service, but overcharges and refuses to haggle (I think because they're surrounded by wealthy neighborhoods). So we instead drove an hour and 45 minutes to buy a used '19 Tech with only 9k miles that was 10k under MSRP. Seemed like a good deal to me!

I like the deal you got. Do you mind sharing the area you're from. I'm wondering if the Seattle area dealers will be as generous.
