Scratched Side View

So I guess I wasn't used to the width of the RDX and tried passing a fed ex truck. That didn't work

The side view mirror got scratched when hitting another sideview mirror, and being a white car, it shows. Its located about a half inch above the blinker light and its about 2 inches long.

If I wanted to change the sideview, would I need to change the entire thing, with mirror, or can you just change the white part?

Meh I will probably leave it cause its not terrible but it just sucks being done so stupidly

Thanks

If the damage is only superficial scratches, you should be able to just replace the colored part. It cost me $174 for parts and labor.

You could also just go for touchup paint (see my thread on that, lol). I just picked it up and it cost me like $16. I'll probably try applying it tomorrow.

Looks like the shell/housing is a little over $30. Not too bad at all.

The housing isn't expensive, most of it is labor costs.

if it's paint transfer, you can easily take it out with a random orbital machine polisher.
if the scratch went all the way down to the plastic, then a machine polisher wont take it out

Just so you know, you're not the only one.

I fretted about it for awhile, bought some touch up paint, and stopped caring about it before applying the paint. I might include it in a touch-up day session some time when the weather warms up.
