Sad to say

My wife and I were involved in a serious accident on Friday. A full size Ford van, (E250?) ran a red light at the end of a freeway exit ramp. Besides the van and my Corsair, another car was involved Five people taken to hospital trama center. My car is totaled. I am out of the hospital, but have many injuries. My wife is in ICU. I am typing this left handed with 1 finger, as I cant move my right arm.

Hope you guys heal up.

that car crumbled badly, weirdly the corsair has good crash ratings but one of the worst in side impacts

A real bummer. Even looking both ways B4 going thru an intersection isn't enuf nowadays - one reason why we stopped motorcycling..
Best of luck to all.

Wow JB, that is terrible. Once was bad enough, and now this, which of course is way worse. Ever since my SIL got his car totaled I have installed front and rear cameras in my car for whatever protection I can get from them. So sorry to hear about your wife and your injuries. Just terrible. Wishing you both a great recovery. I hope the other drivers insurance, etc. is better than last time!

Wish the best for you and the wife plus speedy recoveries.

That looks awful. You've had terrible luck getting in 2 crashes in such a short period of time.

Wow, this is very horrible. Glad you both made it outta there. Thankfully modern car design prevents hits like this from always being deadly. That wasn't always the case.
People out there do not pay attention, do not abide by laws (those laws don't apply to them), and you just can't take anything for granted. Any day we head out on the road, this is a possibility.

Hope you both recover quickly and get back to normal. Geez, this is frightening

Geeze that sucks. Hope your wife gets out of the ICU soon and the two of you recover quick.

That’s such rotten luck. At this rate your next car might want to be a Volvo, if not a Bradley Fighting Vehicle…

Thanks everyone. I'm stepping out of her ICU room for a few minutes she's taking a nap, I'm sure drug induced. It was absolutely an incredibly bad accident. As you approach that signal where the off-ramp from the freeway is there's zero visibility from a surface road I was on up the off ramp to the right, until just entering the intersection, so green light I go... and the car to the right of me was going a little bit faster in and slightly ahead of me. The van hit the little car to my right...it ended up across the divider of the four lane road that I was on and then I smashed right into the side of the E350 flipping it on lts side. Apparently the right front of my car took the brunt of the impact... but the car is definitely totaled... no question about it. And I'm really hoping that the other party, the driver of the van, has insurance that can cove this ...we must have astronomical medical expenses right now as well, but the main thing is that we got out of this alive..if .this car been 10 or 15 years older I doubt there was any way we could have recovered from that accident.

Just found out my wife will leave the rehab place and come home this coming Sat. She's making good progress. We have a meeting with the therapy staff to go over available resources to ease that process and help us adapt. For both of us.

I am also improving some every day.

She has a proposed return to work date of Jan 26.

Excellent News!!!

Don't know what your wife does for work, but please don't have her rush back. My wife had surgery (nothing to do with an accident) years ago and went back to work too soon and reinjured herself. Make sure you both take the time you need to be healthy again.
