Radar Detector Mount

For all of you having issues on where to mount your Radar Detector, I did this. As you know, Blendmount does not have a direct fit for the 3rd generation RDX. They removed it from the website because of our tapering stem and the mirror won’t function properly.

I took the Blendmount out of my 13 Lexus GS and removed the clamp, then used 3M double sided tape to attach it to the housing of the RDX. It’s been 3 day and so far it holds my Uniden R3 with no movement. I will be hardwiring the detector shortly.

Does it get in the way of the garage door buttons? Or any of the forward looking camera or other sensors?
Very interested in how the 3M tape holds up in the heat. I would also like more info when you do the hard wiring. I have an Escort Max360 I'd like to move from the windshield to the rear view mirror and hard wire.

Thanks for the pics.

I live I. Florida, it’s been pretty hot. It does not interfere with the garage buttons. I will be moving it up a half an inch which will bring it back slightly. So far I am very happy. It solved my dilemma.
