Question about the folding cargo tray

Without the cargo tray the cargo floor lid will rotate through 180 degrees and lie flat. With the folding cargo tray installed what happens when the cargo floor lid is opened? Does the lid tend to fall forward (toward the front of the vehicle) or rearward? If tall items (grocery bags for example) are placed in the underfloor storage compartment will acceleration tend to make the lid flop down on the items in the storage compartment? Thanks.

The lid will fall rearward and crush the grocery bags.
To fold the lid flat, you have to remove the cargo tray, fold it and place it on top of the folded lid.
