OEM Folding Cargo Tray
OEM Folding Cargo Tray
The OEM factory cargo tray is GARBAGE!
It doesn't stay in place, slides around whenever loading/unloading, and is super clunky when folded. Why isn't there a method for holding this in place (Velcro, cleat...anything?)
I use the 3rd row seat (1/2 up) almost all the time, and am SUPER DISAPPOINTED with this accessory.
Does anybody have a work-around?

I don't know if the 07-13 MDX cargo mat and cargo area has changed much in the +14 model?
I use the cargo net, spread eagle, with my tri-fold cargo tray for my 2011. The cargo net seems to hold the tri-fold mat in place with no movement. I also ordered Gogo 24 piece locking D-shaped aluminum Carabiners from Amazon to attached the cargo net to the internal clips. Much easier to unclip cargo net with the carabiners compared to using the cheap plastic clips to access the hidden compartment or put up the 3rd row. I used the extra clips for my RDX and TSX cargo nets/tray.
Not sure if the +2014 OEM cargo net has to be only be installed upright only or spread eagle and/or upright like the 07-13 mdx models? Amazon sells a Universal Fit Trunk Cargo Net for Acura MDX NSX RDX RL RSX SLX TL TSX ZDX, for $20+shipping that works very well and it can be installed either way.

I agree. Just received my MDX last night and put the folding tray in. Very cheap feeling and a) doesn't stay in position very well and b)does not stay flat without help.
I actually knew this after seeing the cargo tray at the dealer, but unfortunately it's the best solution for protection considering we will use the 3rd row occassionally.

Yeah, it's bad. I was debating putting Velcro on the bottom. I've had some luck holding it in place by putting up the tie-down anchors. Annoying thing is if you park on an incline with any kind of weight on the tray it will slide down and it makes it harder to close the hatch.

We use the 3rd row almost ALL the time, so this may be my only option.....

Wish I read this thread a few hours ago - I placed a weathertech order and decided against the weathertech cargo mat since I want to be ready for the time I flip the back seats up.. I can only hope it's not horrible fitting, I guess velcro is the answer
Yes, the Toyota Highlander has something similar and is held in place Velcro. Show be an easy fix, but you would think engineers at Acura could figure this out.
