Power window motor

Hello,

I just had the front windows on my 21' Aspec tinted the other day. I rolled down my window this morning, and now it won't roll back up. I am wondering if the up portion of the window tint somehow got screwed up while they were tinting the windows. Is this even possible? I would think either a switch does or doesn't work. The only other thing I can think of is the power window motor. Has anyone had any issues with these or the regulators going out?

I am going to stop by the tint shop to have them take a quick look. I will go to Acura if they can't get it, but we all know that they're going to blame it on the window tinter (and that would be true).

Thanks!

I think I wouldn't even mention the tint job to Acura...just say it stopped going up.

Oh, for sure! I called Acura, and they're going to take a look at it later on this afternoon. I told them it's kind of an emergency since I can't roll my window back up! Hopefully, it's an easy fix!

So, I just got home from the Acura dealership. According to the Tech, the power window motor was bad. It was replaced under warranty, and all is good now.

Are the power window motors problematic in this gen RDX? I only have 5k on the vehicle, but I suppose it could have just been a faulty motor.

First I remember reading here about one going bad.

They generally use a lot of soapy water during the tinting process. I wouldn't be surprised if that caused the demise of the window motor.

I have no doubt this was the case! I'm just glad Acura fixed it.

Definitely nice that nobody caught it.

Just to get a general idea of what the tinting process is like.
