Performance Red - Anyone get/order one or seen one
I have one coming from Ohio, and the dealer told me that they would not get another one for almost 2 months. Are they that rare? I wondered if they really were hard to find. At least my dealer did not try and bag me for an additional dealer mark up. The other local dealers don't have one either.
I got a Advanced Performance Red. Its excellent. The dealership - Sarasota FL - only had one Red. It did not appear simple for them to order as we actually wanted a AWD but Florida does not order these....
Anyway - it may not be as perfect as the original concept -but its great. With all the press on the concept - I would have guessed they would have these all over the dealerships - but what do I know....
I bought mine on June 5th. I visited two dealers and asked if they had a Tech in Performance Red Pearl. They both said yes and there was no mention of it being rare; only that there was an upcharge for the four new colors.
My Acura dealership has 2 performance red RDX's, one base model and one A-Spec. And I think one or two more were sold within the last few weeks, so that means the dealership had 3 or 4 in total. So I would say they are not rare.

OP, I forgot to mention, that even though other local dealers may not have a performance red, there is a good chance a dealership in a 100 mile radius will have one. Your dealership was probably pressuring you into buying the performance red that day. Acura dealerships do vehicle swaps with each other all the time, so they should be able to locate one for you if you decide to buy a performance red RDX in the future and your dealership doesn't have that color available.
When I was walking with the sales guy to the Advance I was going to test drive, there were two Performance Red A-Specs in the same lane as the test driver. Looked nice.
An aside - my dealership is pretty impressive. From what I can tell, no car is outdoors on a big open parking lot. All their new cars are indoors in a multi-level facility. Besides the ramps, they move cars to the different floors by elevator. It's in an urban area with very limited space for surface lots, especially for a car dealership. So...they went vertical. Coolness.
