Beware that 1.5.1 update killed carplay for me. Tried multiple phones. Tried multiple cables. It doesn't light up at all. Worked perfectly on last version.

Just plugged in my iPhone 10s Max and it worked just fine. Did the update earlier and it only took 10 min total.

Performance. It’s a lot smoother and quicker when changing between the three screens.

We will see. Since the TSB that was supposed to fix it I have only seen the screen once. Hopefully this update fixes it on the software side it it indeed software related. If it’s hardware then who knows???

I see. I was hoping that it would show music information from Spotify in the secondary screen when the main screen was being used by google map. Wishful thinking...

I too was hoping I could run google maps in the main screen and see the music playing in the secondary screen. I can't believe this still isn't allowed. I was also hoping for an Android Auto Wireless feature....but no to that too.

My Android Auto no longer connects to my Pixel 3XL.
was working fine prior to update.

It didn't connect to my S20 5G after the update was completed. But I rebooted the Infotainment and it connected fine after that.

As part of the update, it asked me if I wanted carplay.

if it skipped that, or took NO as an answer, I think you can change that in systems connections communication settings.

In my experience, you may need to factory reset the system after applying an update like this.

It already does that since the beginning before any of the updates with Apple CarPlay. Have you tried switching the view on the secondary screen? It’s easy.

I haven’t tried it with Android Auto so I don’t know about that. I’m pretty sure it does too.

I restarted the vehicle a few times which didn't fix it. I was thinking about rebooting the system by pulling that fuse (which I've had to do before) but thought I'd reboot my phone first. That did the trick.

AA still does not show the track info on secondary screeen when AA is on the main one. Not sure what is holding up Acura from implementing it - the meter can show the track info, so apparently the info is available.

It also seems to have fixed issues between playing SXM (through the RDX, not the Carplay app) vs. Apple Music songs. I was finally able to update from D.1.2.1 after that 57D error many of us experienced so this may have been fixed already for some. It seemed to start after one of the iOS updates months back.

Anyone notice the audio system sounds better, like the bass just seemed clearer and more responsive, I could feel it in my chest more, something felt different to me. Maybe placebo? I have the bass only one notch above center too.

Could have been the song. I notice some songs will sound amazing and some sound like they wont even trigger the sub.

Installed it today. It replaced the “famous” 1.2.1. on my car. So far, I have noticed 0 difference. One thing I can tell for sure is that the speakers make the same noise wnen the volume is at 0 or muted.

Yes, it is mentioned in the description to the update. Since I drive in normal all the time, kind of useless feature )) I wish they added a digital speedometer to the Minimal screen.

Yeah, I noticed the OTA update when I ran out for tacos. Update took about 5-6 minutes and was done by the time I got to Texas Taco. 😁

I haven't had a chance to explore but I haven’t noticed anything new or anything that's broken.

I just wish we'd get some snow around here once in a while. Car is almost 2 years old and I've only driven in snow once and it was mostly just slush.

I feel so, too, but only when playing through Android Auto. Feels like the dynamic range has increased and sound is more balanced.

if you download a tone generator on your phone, and play a rolling tone from 150 to 20 hz over bluetooth, you will hear the dropoff. I use 'Audio Signal Generator' on IOS.

I've gotta admit that I too am hearing what sounds like...better sound quality. I didn't think the ELS system could get any better.

I tested with Tidal and tested with a song that sounded very narrow before. Now it sounds wider, more stereo and more dynamic in the low end. I feel more rumble and low end than I did before. I wonder what changes in the update.

Glad to know more people feeling the same. To me it is still not home hi-fi quality (for example high frequency is not airy enough), but getting pretty close. I feel the change is as if someone from Acura listened to the latest generation of B&W bookshelf speakers, and decided to match the sound characteristics.

I discovered another feature of this firmware update.

I have been trying to install the last map update since the end of November. I have tried USB-2 drives, USB-3 drives, quick formatted drive, full formatted drives, and multiple downloads of the map. Every attempt resulted in an error message and a failure to install.

After installing this firmware update last weekend, I decided to pick up the last thumbdrive I tried, which was still sitting in the cupholder, and amazingly it began to update immediately. I am now up to date on the latest map and firmware.

I know this doesn't make since, since so many others were able to update the maps prior to the firmware update. I have a 2020 model if perhaps that makes any difference.

I don't know how many firmware / software based modules there are in the car (probably at least 4 or 5) but if just one is out of whack or can't communicate, handshake or be updated for any reason, the update can fail. Seems, there are more things that can go wrong than go right.

I was unable to install any updates when I got the car in February 2019. After a year, I brought it in to the dealer to do it. They couldn't either. An Acura field engineer had to fly in from CA,, replaced the head unit and did an ordered re-install of all the software in the car. Like it's done at the factory, but while retaining all the unique historical data like mileage and maintenance codes.

Operation has been flawless ever since.

In my experience, every system that relies on the camera freaks out at the slightest hint of snow, so you’re not missing much.

Anyone else confirm they are getting better sound quality? I listened again and I really am hearing more low end and it for sure seams more dynamic. It's almost like gain on the amp was increased or something.

I am still finding that when using the USB with music, it still may take a while to wait for it to initialize, and then also it drops out for 30 secs or so sometimes. Happened in both short trips I have taken the past two days. Otherwise, I still need to do some better listening for the clarity comments noted.
