Over The Air (OTA) Software Update D.1.1.2
#81
Anyone that has done the D.1.1.2 update successfully: Did the "Favorites" get wiped out like on the December update or did they remain? I think my Navigation favorite locations were lost before as were my favorites on the radio bands. I wonder if I should write down at least my radio band favorites so I can recreate if they get lost again. That would be a pain though. Thanks.

Completed the update. Bluetooth is having issues now. I can hear my music, but the car says I'm not connected to anything. I can even make a call, but I get this.
Edit: for anyone else who has. iPhone has no issues with update, but with Samsung S8 I had to delete the pairing on the car and phone and then re-pair . Working now .

Try deleting the phone from the vehicle AND the vehicle from the phone then re-pairing the two. That should be the first step in attempting to resolve most Bluetooth issues and is something I recommend after every vehicle or smartphone software update.

I experienced this same issue on D.1.0.4.

I went out this AM and checked - no update notification even though I received the E-Mail yesterday. Went to breakfast with friends and when leaving the restaurant the notification icon was displayed as soon as I started the car (was not connected to any WiFi). Got home and system said update was available via cellular network - I elected to 'Update when vehicle off' and turned it off. That was about an hour ago. I just checked and got the 'Update Complete' and am now on D.1.1.2. Haven't checked any functionality yet.
Edit: Car was connected to my home network overnight so the in vehicle notification was triggered after I left home.

The fix list could be better organized by listing fixed issues by category e.g. Audio, Navigation, Apple Carplay, etc.
Anyway, it is interesting to see "• Navigation routing guidance avoids the use of alleys when possible" . On my way back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, when I was at 210 and I-15, I was changing the Navigation option between shortest distance and fastest time and for whatever reason, it took me to an alley next to railroad that is about 1/2 mile north of the major freeway I-10, which I normally take. It was around noon and I was going at the right direction, but my wife did not like the look of the area, so she used google map from her phone to take us to I-10. I was wondering about what had happened and since then I always double-check the route before I start. Now I know that this was a bug!

I got the email yesterday. I went out and updated in 20 minutes. However, while I had the car idling in 64° weather the water temp gauge barely moved and only showed about 10% mark instead of the usual 50%. I’m beginning to really hate this RDX.

My update came in yesterday and downloaded on its own while the vehicle (Advance trim) was sitting in the garage (via wifi I assume). I noticed the symbol on the system update icon and went for it. The procedure started at step 5 I believe which is where the installation begins on the already downloaded software. Like others have stated it took about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The code looks a lot cleaner than the December update with what I have tried so far including, Siri eyes free connection to the phone and Acuralink download of places with infotainment seeing them later rather than not making it I suppose were two of the more noticeable problems before that are corrected that I have seen so far. Trying more things as time permits. There is a file link in the sticky section listing all of the things fixed in this update.
Three things I would like to see looking forward (I could come up with more I suppose) is the ability to name places in the navigation function, CarPlay using the touchpad working the same as the vehicle functions with absolute positioning rather than sliding being the way it works (may have an Apple dependency), and lastly an understanding of how navigation map updates can be done when available. A couple months ago there was a lot of dialog on this if it was fee or free for awhile and would it come from Acura or a partner without any closure.

In regards to question about having Car Play and the True Touch Pad playing nicely with each other, its an Apple issue. I have already contacted Apple and had lenghty conversation about this. The rep informed me that the recorded conversation would be sent to their engineers about making Car Play work with the True Touch Pad. Hopefully this happened and now its a wait and see session.

Thanks for this! I will be out today, and hope this works for me as well. My RDX hadn't left my garage since I started trying to get the update yesterday afternoon...after receiving the notice of it on my screen, and receiving the email.
Thanks again!. I will report back after I have been out later today.

Sooo...Now I'm questioning my steps. First, I have never set up an acura.com login, second, I don't have any idea how to use the OTA (in vehicle cellular) feature which is mentioned in the image I pasted below.
Are these things necessary to get the update? I would think not, as the car clearly notified me of the update being available. In fact, it took over the left side of the display screen. I could return to the map, but within a few seconds, it reverted to the update available message.
I have my home WiFi added to the car, and set to allow automatic updates. It connects while in my garage.
I have also set my cell phone to tether mode, and have that "network" added to the car and allowed automatic updates..
I have tried the USB method, starting with a clean USB drive, I then insert the drive into the USB port in the car, and it downloads the rb folder with files inside. I then put the USB drive into my computer and click on the link that takes me to an Acura website that says the following... but there is no place to click continue.
What next? Considering how easy this was for many, I don't want to go to the dealer for this.
Any help guys? Thanks!

I doubt that not having an Acura account would have any effect other than not getting an email notification, if that.
The OTA function is supposed to work either via the built in cellular link or a WiFi connection - whichever is available. In my case it appears this last one was done via the in vehicle cell link. The previous update to D.1.0.7 happened overnight (I assume via my home network) because when I came out in the morning the message said the update was in progress and on step 6 of 7 (if I remember correctly) and wanted me to confirm continuing. I know I did not do anything to initiate the process.
The only thing I can think of is maybe Acura is rolling it out kind of piecemeal so as to not overload their system. Maybe give it a couple of days and see what happens?

I saw the update icon in my notification area on the way to work today. So at a stop light I started it. It went through about 6 reboots and I got the message that the update was successful and complete. However, when I look at the info screen, it says I still have 1.0.7!! As shown below. WTF????

My update screen keeps crashing when I try to update. The process seems to not respond everytime I try to update. I've tried resetting the car a few times, still nothing. I do have a rather weak wifi signal to the car from my garage but I don't really think this is the issue. Anyone else having this problem?

I like the red. It's in sharp contrast to the map and easy to see. I wish the town names were a little bolder instead of white border text but I'm so happy that zoom is fixed that I'm not going to complain about that.
