No More Headlight Washer?
No More Headlight Washer?
I am planning on trading my 2020 Platinum Elite for a new 2026 Aspec Platinum Elite.
While watching a YouTube video, I saw that the panel above the driver's left knee is different than the one on my 2020 RDX.
I noticed that some of the buttons for the Acura Watch features, were replaced with a single "Safety Support" switch, which opens a menu to change the settings, which previously had their own buttons.
I also noticed there was no longer a Headlight Washer button. I downloaded the 2026 owners manual, and I could not find any reference to "Headlight Washers". Can any 2026 owners confirm or deny the existence of Headlight Washers on the latest RDX.

I didn't know that this feature was a Canadian only option. The owners manual only says "Not available on all models", while other features definitely say "on Canadian models only"
The following image is from my own 2020 Platinum Elite.
In addition to removing the headlight washer button, It looks like the Lane Departure, and the CMBS buttons, have also been removed on the 2026 models, and replaced with a new button "Safety Support" which opens up a menu on the MID to allow changes to those features. I wonder how much money was saved by eliminating that one button.
For those not familiar with the headlight washers feature, in addition to operating with the push of the button, it also operated whenever the front windshield washers were activated.
It was a feature that I will certainly miss. As you know, driving on Ontario roads in the winter results in a salt film covering everything.. When operating the washer at night, I could see a noticeable improvement in the lighting instantly.
