The plastic headlight lenses are starting to become hazy from the sun. Unfortunately, the car is not garaged. Is there a quick fix for improvement for a few months, if not a fix?

 

 

This stuff has worked awesome for me. It cleans and seals the headlight assemblies for up to a year.

 

I've used Paint Protective Film (PPF) on my 3 previous and 2 current Acura (living in SW and keep vehicles for +10 years). UV haze can come back even faster once you polish the HID/LED cover without some protection. PPF now comes with a 10 year warranty and can last longer. I've had good results with minimal-zero UV hazing with 3M, XPEL, and Suntek PPF on HIDs, LEDs, and fog lights.

 

The video below illustrates the the permanent 'fix' that you need, though, it may be beyond your threshold of DIY?

 

Be honest, this is not a permanent solution. With proper preparation, this clear coat will only last a couple of years in the direct sun.

 

Short of throwing hard earned $$$ money away on brand new headlights, to replace fully functional ones with oxidized plastic, & from personal experience, , altair47 I would advocate it as such.


Just curious, when you talk about sun exposure, what part / state of the country do you reside in again?

The pictures below display a 'pandemic' lockdown project of rattle can spray painting my CL-S salvage yard harvested driver side front fender.
I replaced the whole fender because the previous owner stated someone had backed into it pushing the center in & it looked like he!!.

The rattle can Anthracite Metallic shows up darker as a result of sitting next to 18-19 year old (at the time of these pictures) factory paint.

It was not a concern because this car is a daily 'beater' and its use helps keep miles low on my rarer CL-S six speed.

The USC SprayMax 2K Glamour (which is basically the same 2K clear used in the headlight video above) has not faded / clouded or discolored in almost 48 months now of constant daily UV baking under the Florida sun.

I'd go out and take pictures of the fender now, though, it would be a waste of my time because it looks the same.
Total cost of the project including the salvage fender came in at just under one C-note.
