No heat!

My wife's 2020 RDX went from uncontrollable high heat in mild weather conditions to no heat in frigid conditions. She's been traveling, so it's sort of appeared as a problem all of the sudden. I took her to the airport and the heat was blowing in my face full force. When she came home and the weather had turned subzero, there's no heat?

Obviously, we're headed to the dealer, but just looking for thoughts here.

We need to determine if the problem is due to a lack of warm coolant flowing through the heater core, or is the problem with the fan, or the selection of destination of the airflow, for example air blows from the floor vents when the defrost or face vents are selected.

When you returned home did you have cold air blowing in your face at full force (same force as the heated air), or was the volume of air noticiby reduced, or was it blowing powerfully from a different outlet/vent?

If airflow is the same, does the temperature gauge show the normal temperature? Do you get warm air when you raise the temperature setting to the absolute maximum.

Had a similar event yesterday. Did a remote start, 5 min later got into the car with my wife and once I hit the start button cold air was blowing in our faces and the temp control was set to lowest it could go. The controls were not in auto/sync so I reset that and upped the temp levels and all was well with the heat. When we got to our destination and then home I noticed that my RDX did not auto lock as always anymore but did not investigate further. Will need to do that today......
