I know just announced. But, does anyone know if the new 2025 Wide-Screen Mode for Apple Carplay will become available as an update to 2024's (and prior years)?

 

Doubtful, how else will they get you running to the dealer to trade up?

 

Agree - I asked if I can get the new 2022+ software to the center of the cluster gauge updated to have the digital MPH read out - the dealer said it's not possible (probably is a easy flash in reality).

 

I highly doubt you can. In all seriousness, I think the 2025 "redesign" is a disappointment. I am so glad that I opted for the 24' and didn't continue to wait for the 25 MY. I anticipated a major redesign, which clearly didn't happen. Now, if they would put out a Type S model, I might be interested.

 

“Features” like this are so ridiculous, I still can’t believe some of the basic/obvious software things they never added to the original redesign (I have a ‘19) such as this, digital speedometer, and fixing the absurd “minimal” screen where you have to stare at that stupid word.

 

I hate this so much!! Whats the point of taking away information for a clean look when you leave the word up?!

 

Totally agree. I much prefer my 2023 Aspec advanced over whatever that redesign is.

 

Also, I must be one of the few people who likes having the small Acura navigation to the right while I have my Apple CarPlay going with whatever music im currently listening too.

 

Probably. I have Apple Music on the right and the CarPlay Nav on the left. Acura navigation is not great.

 

They should offer this as a free update to all acura rdx’s back to the 2019, at minimum offer it for a fee like $20! It’s a simple simply software update, probably something as small as one parameter change in their software to enable the widescreen mode, it’s pretty sad if they don’t back date this

 

Everyone will have to contact them and make a stink about it on social media.

 

There has been a long-standing update that has been stalled to enable wifi map updates on the 2022-2024 RDX & MDX (w software F1.2.2). An optimistic hope is that the reason for stalling could be that widescreen is included and they want the 25 to come out with it first...

 

I would have liked for that right side screen stay to the same setting after turning off and on the car. I hate having to swipe thru every time to bring up the clock. I should be able to set it to clock or whatever all the time.
