MGP Caliper Covers

Just wondering if anyone has installed the MGP caliper covers. I had never heard of them until someone posted something about them in this forum. I have a white A-Spec and thought red calipers would have looked nice and should have been that way when built. At $270 they are not cheap, and I guess there are other alternatives like painting...but these seem most appealing. If anyone has them..thoughts, fit, ease of installation, any other issues they created?

Just paint them. At least then they're real; the only people who would be impressed by larger calipers would recognize that the covers are fake. Kind of like people who stick ///M badges on their 328i or an AMG badge on a CLA250.

OH no! I was just getting ready to put an AMG badge on my RDX. Is this wrong? ;-)

Agreed. I've been debating on whether I would paint mine or have them professionally done. But I would skip the caliper covers. Depending on the kit and the tools you need (floor jack, jack stands, etc), it will cost somewhere between $25 and $100 (plus your time) to paint them yourself. I was quoted $450 to have them pulled and painted professionally. At $270, I don't think this is a viable option. Either do them yourself or bite the bullet and have them professionally done. I've seen quite a few vehicles with caliper covers and to me it feels like the fake Buick porthole vents that people stick on their cars now. Do it right or don't do it all.

But to each, his own.

I had an MGP set on another vehicle. The guy who designed the kit must have been on fentanyl because it didn't even come close to fitting. When I called their tech support, the guy seemed to feel it is normal that cutting, grinding, reshaping stuff should be something the customer should be willing to do. They took them back without issue. This was a few years ago, maybe they have them sorted by now. I'd love to have a set if they were.

I installed the caliper covers last weekend. Paid $230 thru carID. I have a black a-spec, so the red caliper covers really pop. For me, it makes the car stand out. I love it. I'm super happy, but it does come at a price. The covers are larger than the actual caliper, so thats a factor in looks too. Fit was just fine. They are a little close to the front wheels. Took less than an hour for total install, but I have a floor jack and torque wrench (and jack stands to be safe). These photos aren't great.

Why does black have to look so incredible but be so incredibly difficult to keep clean!!!

I love the pop of color. Overall, I’m happy.

I always use G2USA's kits. I buy them from Amazon. When I got my RDX I got a new kit, and did my calipers. Always a good experience. The gloss finish is easy to clean as well.

Looks great! I recently bought a 2022 Acura RDX A Spec. Just to confirm when installed, no adjustments, modifications or spacers was needed for your RDX? The covers from MGP were a perfect fit with those rims? Reason I am asking is because a friend bought some MGP caliper covers, and they told him they didn’t fit and would need spacers.

Yep, I like the way it looks.

Zero modifications required, not even sure how you’d modify these TBH. I am not running wheel spacers either. Totally factory wheel setup. Unsure what your friend is talking about. If you put in your car on their website, it says they fit. IThat’s what I did and was fine. Mine is a 21 A Spec. There’s at least a 1/3 inch gap between the wheels and the caliper covers. They are extremely thin.

Anyone on here have the yellow covers? I just got my Aspec+Adv in apex blue and I was thinking of picking up the yellow ones.

I am going with these over paint, I did a DIY paint with the duplicolor kit on my last car, prepped meticulously and still had it chipping away a year later. A lot of work for disappointment.

Thank you for the quick reply! With your confirmation and you stamp of approval, I will be purchasing these MGP caliper covers for my RDX and instaling them. Again, thanks!
