January 2022 Sales Numbers

Interesting numbers for Acura/Honda at one end and Hyundai at the other. Seems Like the Koreans are in full control with their own domestic supply Of semiconductors.

I can’t find more than 5 RDX/TLX Advance models within 50 miles of me.

I want to test drive them both, back to back, and no dealer can do that.

I have had Acuras since the original Integra. Owned a 2005 TL. Leased then purchased a 2013 RDX, then bought a 2019 MDX Sport Hybrid which was totaled in August, so I needed a replacement.
I waited and tried so hard to buy a 22 RDX Advance but dealers had no inventory. I knew that if I could snag a RDX, I would be gouged to the nth degree. I also tried to buy the Genesis GV70, but the price gouging really irked me, so it did not work out.
In the end, I bought a Mazda CX-5. Mazda dealer had enough inventory that I knew I might not pay over MSRP. The CX-5 is no RDX as far as refinement or luxury!!! ICX-5 is just ok.
The CX-5 will hold me over until the chip issue and related lack of inventory problems are remedied. Perhaps by then, I will move to an EV.
Tough times.

You sure you're not just looking thru your Bias Goggles? The RDX's interior is nice, but the CX5 rivals it pretty damn well, especially for a supposed "non-premium" brand. If you took the brand badge off the steering wheel, I think the vast majority of people would think that the two companies were in the same segment.

Of course just my opinion, but I think the TLX A-Spec and S type are the best looking sedans made today. The interior, while similar to the RDX, is different in certain ways that make it nicer. The only thing is...who is buying sedans any more, and what is that impact on trade in values down the road.

I ordered mine and it took nearly 4 months. The salesman said the MDX is a 6 month wait.

Obviously we are talking about opinions, but IMHO, the Acuras are noticeably more refined. I commend Mazda for handling the chip/inventory problem much better than most other car companies. In the end, I purchased a Mazda. If owning a Mazda CX-5 ends up being a good overall experience over time, I may buy another Mazda. I will know what to expect if there is a next time. Perhaps I was too used to the Acura's "look, feel and functionality."
The user interface on the Mazda needs to be more intuitive, IMO. I think the electronic brake button works counter-intuitively which drives me nuts. The suspension is very firm, like I would expect from a prior Mustang GT or vette, not a 5-seat crossover. The Mazda app is horrible and should be completely redone. I hate that the side mirror does not tilt down when in reverse. NAVI is sub-standard. The key FOBs are not numbered. Each key FOB does not store music/entertainment settings for each FOB is ridiculous. Only the top trim has parking sensors. I find the seats uncomfortable for long trips.

The Mazda has some excellent qualities. The engine torque/power and the car's handling are excellent. No turbo lag and more than enough pull. Regular gas is fine. Plenty of features are included in mid-trims levels, such as the HUD and many others features.
Remember, that in the end, I bought the Mazda. As long as it remains a reliable vehicle, it will have served its purpose.

for my needs, the Aspec does nothing and I don’t like the bigger wheels.

My wife has a hard time seeing the corners of the RDX, so we will look at the sedan, too. Along with the Volvo s60 and xc60. I am not now medically able to shop yet, which is not that big a problem because there is nothing to shop for.
