With the light switch in the DOOR position, the lights above the rear windows are remaining on indefinitely when the doors close. The lights above the rear view mirror are properly going on and off based on the door position.

If I change from DOOR to OFF, the rear lights go off.

Any siggestions?

 

Sounds like someone turned both rear lights on at each rear light.

 

The rear interior lights have two brightness settings and can be toggled by pressing it. In the brighter setting they will not turn off even when it is set to DOOR. Agree with the previous poster, someone pressed the button.

 

Thanks, both, for the responses. I knew that could not have happened on both sides, but I wanted to make sure. I pressed the button on the left side, toggling between the dim and bright settings. It did not fix the problem after several iterations. Then I did the same thing on the right side, and that fixed it for both sides. So there’s some interaction between the state of the two sides that I don’t understand.

 

Last week, my wife was trying to read something, so she pressed a button on the overhead and turned on all the lights. Now, I hardly ever use any of those controls so I'm still not familiar with the layout of that panel but, trying to turn off the lights, I must have called Acura Care five times.

I did discover there appear to be separate ON and OFF buttons. I was expecting a single alternate-action like every other car I've ever had. Back to the manual.
