If you mean incorporating the secondary screen into the main screen, sorry. That's a no.

I have to ask; why? Personally I love the two screens. And it's such a wide screen, if it were only one app running I'm not sure what more info or 'tainment I would want from that one app. I mean, it's not like you're playing Cinerama format movies on it.

I can sorta see why - With the newest version of Carplay you can get everything in one screen - maps and music. So its a waste to have a second screen showing duplicative info, or worse just a big clock. Waste of real estate.

I guess that makes sense. I've never used CP for two things at once - I have the Tech and have been trying to only use the on-board nav. That said, I'm not too happy with the nav so I may very well switch to Google or Waze ,and in that case I guess I might want the wider screen.

with the new carplay there is too much useless information with two screens. Personnally i think its a waste to not have the option in the settings to disable the secondary screen.

The way I use nav, with direction of travel always facing up, a wider screen doesn’t do much.

That 2nd screen is just a complete waste, but I'm speaking from a non Nav vehicle so maybe it has some functionality with the Acura nav system. With Carplay it's just wasted space that could be used for a lot of things built into Carplay's new UI.

So what are the second screen option for a nonNavi vehicle? Navi vehicle has three; Now Playing, Navi, and Clock. If no Navi what is displayed in its place?

Yeah I guess I didn't think about it that way. If you're using CP/AA for both navi and audio entertainment, that is just wasted space (unless you really like clocks!). But since I use use the onboard system for both nav and entertainment, I think it's great.

It would be nice though to throw an app from CP/AA to the small screen.

Now playing and clock are pretty much it, that's why it's a waste. If Apple navigation is on in carplay the 2nd screen says it's on, but to my experience doesn't display any navigation prompts, but I haven't played with that for a while.

Maybe they'll take care of that in one of the next few OTA updates...

Great question and great point. I didn't even think about until your post and then seeing the screen shot of a one-display screen...it would seem to make no sense when using CP or AA to have this second screen' on the right. It would be much more impressive to just take over the whole screen or, as Apple has stated, CP has a two screen feature in it now that is not used on any cars yet, so use that right side for whatever second screen CP has. Added to the wish list.....
