How to install Dashcam?
Hi,
I recently got a RDX and I wanted to install a dashcam. Do you have any suggestions on how to install a Dashcam without hardwiring it?
Thanks!

without hardwiring it?
use the included "cigarette lighter" outlet thingy
probably would help to know what dashcam you bought, most dashcams come with a "charger" that you plug into the 12v port

I haven't bought one yet, i was going to decide which one to buy once I found a solid plan to install it.
The Apeman brand on amazon has been pretty great for the price, I have two of them, the c420 which is nice for a small out of the way dash cam, and then I have one of the front/ back cam ones, overall they are a fairly reliable Chinese brand of dash cams, I have a 128GB card in mine and it has worked fine for over a year so far, I have pulled footage from it and it looks pretty good. There are lots of Chinese brands out there that compete with the really expensive American brands, I’m all for buying USA but $40-100 bucks for a pretty high end dash cam, vs $300-500 for some of the blackview higher end stuff, probably made in China anyways. Some of the other Chinese brand cams Being sold are not the best, half the people have issues with them. Also many of the amazon reviews are fake, I usually look at bad reviews only, but apeman overall had pretty decent reviews, I have 2 myself and they work fine. Good luck!
I had my dashcam put in professionally, because I found it a bit daunting to install a 2-channel (front+rear view). Running that wire to the back is a beyotch. Anyway, I purchased a ThinkWare Q800 Pro, which was not cheap but works VERY well and more importantly, could do recording when g-sensor is tripped for up to a few days when car is parked. This is without adding any dashcam battery. The dash cam itself has a battery voltage monitor so it knows not to drain too much from car battery. In any case, if you go to do this yourself, please be careful about the A-pillar. Don't just run the wire across where the trim meets the roof, you will compromise an airbag if you do. You have to take trim off to do it proper. Also, you can get hardware kits that use a fuse-tap so you don't have to cut any wires and maintain the car warranty. That was also important.
The same guys who put in the dash cam also ran bluetooth-enabled ambient lighting under dash and under front seats, money well spent IMHO.

i've done alot of dashcam installs in my vehicles...mostly blackvue 2 channel.
for the 2021 rdx i went with the 750s. and did it myself with the exception of the powermagic pro where i paid to get it done properly taped to fuses.
i didnt remove any panels except the driver side A pillar to run wiring underneath... most of the wiring went under the rubber edging along roof line. overall works great.
