help purchasing rdx 2019
i am looking to buy RDX Advanced but concerned about these things
1. Its too new and dont know what issues it might have
2. No safety ratings yet
3. Dealer is only giving $200 off msrp, $1000 off loyalty program if go via acura financing, and few accessories (which one should i get?)
thanks

If you can get the 1K off, I'd go that route. Best way to get more off is to fight for a better trade in number. Dealer low balled my '15 and I walked. Came back, 10 days later with a higher proposal on my trade in and got $1500 additional. With sales tax savings on the $1500, its probably $1600+
Btw, its a Modern Steel, A-spec with the red interior and dealer tells me its one of two allocations and being built, I should be getting it two weeks. We'll see.

1. I wouldn’t worry about safety ratings at all.
2. Yes it is new. The only thing for that is to trust that Honda has done the absolute best it can, that the 2.0/10AT is not brand new and seems to have had zero issues. If there are software issues, they can be easily fixed. If there are hardware issues, it will take significant time.
IMO, price is the only real issue. I expect, and hope, that the initial supply/demand situation will resolve itself after the summer.

Since these are selling so quickly, negotiating may be a hard thing to accomplish, so if you get any discount around 1K before trade-in, then take it. I got a nice amount on trade-in for my Mazda CX-9, so that was the selling point for me

Same experience here. Dealers won't move off of MSRP. If you can get the $1K loyalty that's probably the best you can do.
Just came to terms with my dealer after a bit of back-and-forth. I got him to come down about $2500 from his original offer (by increasing the trade in value) and include about $900 in 'goodies' (mats, cargo cover, etc.). In my mind that about as good as I was going to get this close to the model release.
Now it's just a matter of getting the vehicle. I'm looking for either a White/Parchment or Modern Steel/Graystone. He has a modern steel in the pipeline but it's not scheduled until late August. Hopefully he can find one or the other and do a dealer trade.

thanks. I have sent an offer asking to take off $395 off the MSRP with $1000 off because of loyalty program and $600 worth of goodies. Lets see if they sell it.
On the quality issues: I believe the engine and powertrain are not entirely new, so one would expect less issues there.
On financing: Do you all think it is better to finance via Acura or should I look elsewhere (I may loose 1K)

How about if you promise loyalty, and swear by all that which is holy that you will service your car at Acura and pledge that your firstborn will always buy Acura?
Does that get you loyalty credit?
Does that get you loyalty credit?

Probably not. Maybe if you followed through on all that, then they might. I would be interested to know. So, if you're volunteering....

Or just save your pennies until you can pay cash and then you'll be way ahead.

Take the 1K and later refinance elsewhere. I don't believe there is a restriction on refinancing. There certainly is no pre payment penalty, as I paid off the 2015 RDX-Tech early.

thanks all.
outfitter, is that for < 36 months, the APR? @catbert430, you got only $1000 off? No other incentive?
Also, I am not planning to trade in, I am going to keep my old car. Also, I did some number crunching and it seems that I could get a decent loaded Mercedes GLC same price as Acura Advanced. I am little surprised that Acura got so expensive now and that is why not entirely sure if dealers can see Advanced at this cost for long (I am sure they will sell Tech Pkg a lot).

wheni compared feature to feature between the M3, GLC and A4, apples to apples the RDX was a much better deal in my area. All the other brands had better lease money factors but the RDX was at least 4-5K lower in price and as others have stated long term costs should be less with the RDX.

It was a Tuesday and they weren't getting much traffic so the 2 dealers I visited were slightly flexible and had the car I wanted in-house.
