Help locating the catalytic converter

With the increasing thefts of catalytic converters I wanted to engrave the VIN on ours. However, I'm having a hard time locating it. When I look at the Acura OEM parts all they list is a Front Exhaust Manifold Pipe Part Number: 18150-6B2-L00

Can anyone shed some light on where it's located.

Usually they go for the 3rd cat that's underneath the car.. luckily for you, the 2020 RDX doesn't seem to have one, https://www.oemacuraparts.com/v-2020...t-pipe-muffler

The part you've identified is indeed the cat, but it's in the engine bay above the subframe so you're an unlikely target.

How would engraving them make any difference? They’re not stolen because they’re re-sold on some weird black market that sells used catalytic converters to the Philippines or something. They’re torn down for the platinum inside. Engraving the outside wouldn’t make a lick of difference. Even if the recycling place wasn’t dirty (news flash, almost all of them are), the etching could easily be erased within seconds using a grinding wheel.

the thought behind it is...

an honest recycling place would not accept it.

but like you said....if the shops were honest to begin with, they wouldnt accept 40-80 cats in one sitting.
if the shops were honest, they would have already put measures in place to not accept fishy transactions.
they would hold the seller accountable by taking down their drivers license and only accept a certain amount per month from an individual .
