Headlights always on

2020 A Spec great car! I’m in Canada and have daytime running lights. The headlights seam to be always on.. I have the head lights set to auto but there is no settings to adjust the sensitivity for them to come on..I’ve only had the car for a couple of weeks and we’ve had overcast sky’s so maybe the ambient light is set at factory to come on at fairly light levels..anyone notice this with their vehicle..the auto brights work great.

I'm in Quebec and have the same problem, headlights are on in dim or slightly cloudy sky. Stay off only in bright sun. The US models can adjust the sensitivity, but Canadian models can't. At next service I will ask if they can be adjusted using their diagnostic tool.

I’m going to ask same question although I don’t know if it hurts to have the lights on most of the time I guess it would impact the life span of the bulbs?

I will probably do about 96,000KM (about 58,000 miles) on the 4 year lease.
The led lights should last way longer.
The replacement cost is prob very very expensive.
If you are worried, you can always turn the headlight switch to the first position which turns off the headlights.
But then you have to close them after stopping the car.
What bugs me more is the crappy sound system-might be good for 5.1, studio sound, but is crappy for siriusxm, fm radio.

As described on page 348 in the complete owners manual, you can adjust the sensitivity for the headlights to come on. There are a number of settings from min to max.
In the home screen go to settings, then lighting setup, then auto light sensitivity to adjust sensitivity...

Canadian RDX's don't have the option to adjust the auto headlight sensitivity.
Can't think of any reason for that.

this doesn’t seem to work at all. No matter what I set it to they come on while it’s still fairly bright out. Long before it even starts to get dark.

That is only for the USA model??? It doesn’t make sense? Maybe you get adjustable sensitivity in the platinum model? All the cars I’ve had with auto headlights had adjustment.

Maybe there was a choice between having folding mirrors and adjusting headlight sensitivity?

Personally, I would rather the folding mirrors, and you guys up North can muck around with how sensitive your lights are. Being an American guy, I am already insensitive, so what do I care if my headlights are insensitive too?
