Graystone Interior, jeans?

Hey guys, about the pull the trigger an leasing a 2020 RDX, SH-AWD with Tech package, Modern Steel. I've ALWAYS has dark ebony interiors on all my Acuras, but I'm strongly considering the Graystone. The lighter interior seems to break up the cabin a bit more for me. I was reading some other posts and a few people made comments about how jeans can effect the color of the seats over time...This is something I've never even thought about. It's a 36 month lease, so if that happens over say 5 years, I'm not to worried about it. Anybody have any experience with this either way? Thanks.

Also, if anyone has the same car, can you post what you are paying for the lease? Thanks.

Some pants will certainly cause dye transfer. There are a couple of products you can use to prevent the dye transfer and a couple to remove it.

My wife wears a ton of deep dye jeans and her RX with parchment interior always looks pretty bad. The graystone doesn't show any of this, probably because the tone of the seats is close to the tone of the dye transfer of blue jeans. I wouldn't worry too much about it with the graystone (and I think the lighter interiors are a bit more interesting).

I had an ILX with light tan seats and yeah my jeans rubbed off on those. You could see some blue tinting. I was worried about this, but so far nothing is showing on my grey seats yet!

Use a seatcover to prevent jeans dye transfer. I use this
microfiber seatcover microfiber seatcover
. Comfy, and the color matches with my seat's color. The heat from the seat also transfers through fine.

For seats already tainted with jeans dye, you could try using warm mild soapy water to wash it off.

To prevent the dyes transferring to your seats, white vinegar helps set the dye into the denim.

Soak the jeans in a bucket of cold water with a couple cups of white vinegar for 1hr - overnight. Then wash the jeans in cold water with a couple cups of white vinegar added to the washer and air dry them. You only need to do this process once.

So... I took a closer look today. My jeans have definitely stained the seats. Looks like I will need to figure out how to get this out before I turn in the lease!

This is considered normal wear and tear. They won't charge you for this on a lease. Normally, this is pretty easy to clean off.
